Article 370 emerged as one of the biggest winners of the ceremony, taking home the prestigious Best Feature Film award, while its lead star Yami Gautam won her maiden National Award for Best Actress. Mumbai, May 28 - On the occasion of the 140th birth anniversary of India's one of most influential freedom fighters, Veer Savarkar, the makers of Swatantra Veer Savarkar unveiled a powerful first-look teaser.## The movie stars Randeep Hooda as Veer Savarkar and the teaser gives a glimpse into his solid performance. The 1 minute and 13 seconds video shows glimpses of an unrecognized Randeep Hooda as social activist Veer Savarkar. ## The teaser promises to have asked tough questions, and one of them is who killed Veer Savarkar's history. One of the major highlights of the teaser is when Savarkar says that Mahatma Gandhi wasn't wrong, but India could have won freedom 35 years earlier if he would have not followed his non-violence ideology. ## Through teaser, the makers have also claimed that Savarkar inspired great freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Subash Chandra Bose, and Khudiram Bose.## Randeep Hooda has himself directed as well as co-produced this flick under Randeep Hooda films. Bangalore, January 24 - The Kannada film industry is heaving a sigh of relief after the Karnataka government decides to lift the weekend curfew, imposed two weeks ago. This news comes at a time when the film industry is looking for revival after a major setback caused by the second covid-19 wave. ## Earlier, just when the Kannada film industry was set for the blockbuster opening of the year, the 3rd covid wave forced the government to announce fresh restrictions in the state. However, with the 3rd wave not resulting in a surge in hospitalization and the recovery rate also being high, the government withdrew its decision of weekend curfew. ## Most of the theatres across the state, which had been closed for two weeks because of the weekend curfew, are all set to reopen and welcome audiences. Though the state government is permitting only 50 percent occupancy at present, multiple reports have suggested that 100 percent occupancy will be allowed by the next weekend. ## Meanwhile, the filmmakers have started rescheduling the release dates of their movies, which were supposed to release two weeks ago. Among the first Kannada films to release in the state after the reopening of cinemas is "DNA", which is slated to hit theaters this week, followed by "Obhattane Dikku", starring Yogesh on January 28.## However, the fans are waiting for the release of Rakshith Shetty's "777 Charlie", Darling Krishna, and Milana's "Love Mocktail 2", Kichcha Sudeepa's Pan-India film "Vikrant Rona", among other Kannada movies. "777 Charlie" was supposed to release last year. The makers will now announce the new release date in the next few days.## Kichcha Sudeepa's big-budget 3D adventure film "Vikrant Rona" is slated for February 24 release, and it looks like the movie will go ahead with its planned release. Interestingly, makers had received a whopping Rs. 100 crores offer from the leading OTT giant for its direct OTT release but rejected it stating that it is made for the big screen experience. ## Meanwhile, the team helming the much-anticipated "Bairagee", starring Shivarajkumar and Dhananjay, has announced the completion of the shooting. The team is all set to launch the teaser soon. Shivarajkumar's last film "Bhajarangi 2" was released on October 29 last year. It opened well at the box before got a major jolt due to the death of Shiva Rajkumar's brother Puneeth.## Last year, the Kannada films were able to catch the attention of movie lovers before and after the second covid-19 wave. Darhsna's "Roberrt", Dhruva Sarja, and Rashmika Mandanna's "Pogaru", late Puneeth Rajkumar's "Yuvarathnaa", Kichcha Sudeepa's "Kotigobba 3", and Duniya Vijay's "Salaga" did very well at the box office. Mumbai, Jan 17 (IANS) Marathi film 'Zombivali', the poster of which was released on Monday, is all set to hit theatres on January 26.## The film is the first-ever zombie film in the realm of Marathi cinema and stars Lalit Prabhakar, Vaidehi Parshurami, Amey Wagh, and Trupti Khamkar.## The recently released poster of the film shows five characters, all charged up to face and slash the zombies as bravery is no longer an option but a necessity for them. Commenting on the release announcement of the comedy horror, actress Trupti Khamkar said, "Due to ongoing global pandemic everything was on hold but today the makers released the poster and it gave us all a ray of sunshine".## She adds, "We have been waiting for this day patiently and here it is. This only makes us happy and proud. The film is named after RD Burman's cabaret item number that was filmed on Helen in the 1971 movie, Caravan. ## Announcing the film, Netflix unveiled the first look posters of Radhika Apte, Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi among others featuring in the film. Vijay Sethupathi's upcoming film, Laabam is one of the most awaited Indian films of 2021. The movie was announced way back in 2019 but the shoot was delayed because of the covid-19 pandemic. And finally, when the shoot was over and post-production was also on the verge of compilation, the unfortunate demise of the director S. P. Jananathan left the Laabam team shattered and shocked and also dented the chances to release the movie in April. ## However, the makers have now announced that despite the unfortunate things that happened in the last few days, Laabam will be ready to release in theaters in April as scheduled in Tamil and Telugu. The 7Cs Entertainment - one of the producers of Laabam, took to Twitter and issued a statement regarding the release of the film. ## The statement read that most of the post-production work was already completed by the late filmmakers S. P. Jananathan while the remaining work that is pending will be completed by Laabam team. The makers, therefore, announced that they will be releasing Laabam in Tamil and Telugu this April in theaters on a massive scale. Mumbai, March 20 (IANS) Bollywood's livewire star Ranveer Singh shared a major throwback image that disclosed that he had tried his hands at theatre before his Bollywood debut role in "Band Baaja Baaraat". ## Before Bollywood, Ranveer had worked in an English play called "Carry On At The Keyhole". It was a comedy directed by Dinkar Jani. ## Sharing a poster of the play on social media, the actor said: "This is a poster for a small play in which I had a small part and the story goes that I used to be a struggler and I used to sit at Prithvi theatre with two or three others like me. We used to just sit there every day, look for odd jobs. One of them got the information that an audition is happening in a college in Andheri for a small role in a small play and nobody wanted to go -- I said I'll go because I didn't have anything at that time!" ## Ranveer added: "I thought to myself -- ‘acting acting hoti hai, koi bada chhota kya hota hai' (acting is acting, nothing big or small about it). I went for the audition , I got the part and they were very impressed by my acting. When we put up the performance - I remember one was at St Andrews and even then I felt proud when I was performing at St Andrews stage because I used to perform on St Andrews stage as a student when I was in school." ## "So, you know, we had a few performances, I had the role of an interior decorator who was posing to be a homosexual man in order to attract more business and it was an old English double-meaning comedy play that was headlined by Darshan Jariwala and directed by Dinkar Jani," Ranveer recalled. ## Ranveer claimed whoever came to watch the play used to be be impressed by his performance. ## "I really took it very seriously and I gave it everything. I used to wear some of my own clothes and most of the people who came to watch the play were just friends and family whom I had informed that I am doing this performance and to come and see it, he said, adding: "I remember meeting Yogesh Sanghvi (the producer of the play) at an awards show last year which is when we re-connected and it was a very emotional moment for him and for me - to meet after all those years - just to see his moist eyes , the pride in his eyes - ‘tu kahan se kahan pahuch gaya mere dost' and I was also getting a bit emotional when I met him because he used to really like me, he used to be very kind to me." ## Ranveer recalled there wasn't much money in theatre but whatever the producer made, he would give to him very generously. ## "He was always very fair and kind to me.
