Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi, and Radhika Apte To Star In A NETFLIX Original Film - Monica, O My Darling; First Looks Revealed

Mumbai, July 28, 2021: Amid the rumors of Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi, and Radhika Apte starring in a Netflix original film, the streamer has officially announced the movie titled - Monica, O My Darling. The film is named after RD Burman's cabaret item number that was filmed on Helen in the 1971 movie, Caravan.

Announcing the film, Netflix unveiled the first look posters of Radhika Apte, Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi among others featuring in the film. The movie will be directed by Vasan Bala, known for Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, Netflix series 'Ray', among others while it will be produced by Sarita Patil of Matchbox Shots.



Director Vasan Bala said in a statement, "Making a noir film was always on my wishlist, and making it for Netflix with Matchbox Shots makes it an absolutely riveting combination. A noir universe comes with its set stock of characters and conflicts that seamlessly retrofit themselves in any time and scenario. As greed, love, betrayal, rage and the all-important', I have a plan' combine to engineer the thrilling exploration of Cinema".

Sarita Patil, Producer, Matchbox Shots said, "Monica O My Darling is special to us for two reasons. We are excited about Matchbox Shots' first collaboration with Netflix and secondly, we have known Vasan Bala for many years and it's a pleasure having him on board the film".

Sharing her first look, Radhika Apte wrote on Twitter, "It's Radflix and thrills time again! Happy to announce that I’ll be back on Netflix yet again with Monica, O My Darling Partying face Super excited to be a part of this wonderful team".

The shooting of the film is currently in progress. Monica, O My Darling will star an incredible ensemble cast including Rajkummar Rao, Huma S Qureshi, Radhika Apte, Sikander Kher, Bagavathi Perumal, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Sukant Goel, and Zayn Marie Khan.
