RC15: Ram Charan's Political Thriller Pan India Film With Director Shankar Pushed To 2024

Hyderabad, October 3 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action thriller film with director S. Shankar is set to be postponed from its 2023 release. The movie marks their first collaboration and it also stars Kiara Advani as the female lead. ## Tentatively titled RC15, the movie was being shot at a brisk pace, however, the shoot suddenly slowed down after Shankar resumed the shoot of Kamal Haasan's long-delayed Indian 2. It has been reported that Shankar wants to finish "Indian 2" as soon as possible on a priority basis and this has delayed the shooting of Ram Charan's film. ## According to Mirchi 9, Shankar will shoot only two short schedules of "RC15" this year and the remaining portion will be shoot next year. The report says that the movie is unlikely to release next year, and will now hit theaters in 2024, most likely on the Sankranthi occasion. ## With the shoot of "RC15" set to be delayed, it is a possibility that Ram Charan may take another film with a different director. Going by the recent reports, Ram Charan is in talks with multiple directors and likely to announce a new film soon. The movie did wonders in the dubbed Hindi version and grossed Rs. 125 crores at the domestic box office. ## The producers of the Sukumar-directed film had claimed that the movie was a big blockbuster at the box office. Meanwhile, Telugu filmmaker Teja has made a big remark on the "Pushpa's" box office status and numbers in the Telugu language. ## According to the greatandhra.com report, the "Sita" director has claimed that the Allu Arjun-starrer action drama film was a flop and did not recover its full money in Telugu. Ram Charan To Start A New Film?

Hyderabad, September 22 - Telugu superstar Ram Charan has been working on his political action drama film with director S. Shankar. The movie went on floors earlier this year, however, things are getting slowed on the progress of the movie as director Shankar is simultaneously started working on his long-awaited "Indian 2" with Kamal Haasan. ## "Indian 2" went on floors a long time back but the shoot was paused after an accident on the set. It recently resumed in Chennai and now, reports say Shankar wants to finish this movie quickly. According to Telugu media reports, Ram Charan is not happy with Shankar's divided attention towards "RC15", hence he is looking to start a new film. ## According to the Great Andhra report, Ram Charan had met with several directors to set up a new project. Kannada director Narthan is one of the directors Ram Charan met to discuss a script. While the "RRR" star reportedly wasn't entirely convinced with the movie, rumors say that he may go with Narthan, but there is no confirmation.## Shankar, meanwhile, will simultaneously direct "Indian 2" and "RC15". He has started a new schedule of "Indian 2" with Kamal Haasan today, and after completing this schedule, he will jump to "RC 15". 'RRR' US Distributor Variance Films To Run Best Picture Oscar Campaign For The Movie

Mumbai, September 20 - The Film Federation of India has picked the acclaimed Gujarati film Chhello Show (Last Film Show) for India's official entry for Oscars 2023. ## The news about India's official Oscar entry has left many movie fans in India disappointed as they were hoping that SS Rajamouli's globally appreciated film RRR would get the nod from the Indian jury. The movie, however, can still get an Oscar nomination in the general category, and the USA distributor of the film, Variance Films will be running a campaign for the same. ## Variance Films president Dylan Marchetti said that "RRR" will receive a significant Best Picture campaign, but he also saw the potential for Best Original Song ("Naatu Naatu"), in addition to cinematography, production design, editing, and many other categories. ## The hashtag "#RRRforOscars" has been trending on Twitter for the past week here in India. "The only thing this news changes is one less award we can go after (Best International Film)", Marchetti said, a few hours after the Indian decision was announced (via Indiewire). "There's a dozen-plus other we can go for now. This film is the whole package".## "RRR" continues to play at theaters in Brooklyn and Philadelphia, with additional cities booked through the end of the year in the USA. "I don't think 'RRR' is the best movie from India this year", Marchetti said. "It's the best movie in the world this year. We're going to conduct ourselves accordingly".## Variance Films may be willing to run an Oscar campaign for the movie but it will require a significant and time-intensive push to keep the movie at the forefront of conversations for these categories as the season heats up. Megastar Chiranjeevi And Salman Khan's 'Godfather' Post-Theatrical Streaming Rights Sold To Netflix For Mega Price?

Hyderabad, September 20 - Megastar Chiranjeevi is getting ready for the worldwide release of his political action drama film Godfather, which also stars Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Nayanthara in key roles. The makers have been slow regarding the promotion of the movie so far, but now looking to speed up and non-stop promotion till the release day which is on October 5. ## According to reports, the producers will release the film on their own as distributors reportedly refused to release it at the price quoted by the makers. Chiranjeevi's last film Acharya caused huge losses for the investors and now, they don't want to take risks by grabbing the movie at a high price.## Meanwhile, the makers have been able to fetch a huge deal for the film's post-theatrical streaming rights. Hyderabad, September 18 - Superstar Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's action drama film Pushpa - The Rise will soon be released in Russia in the local Russian languages. ## "Pushpa - The Rise" was the highest-grossing Indian film of 2021 and grossed over 360 crores worldwide. VT13: Varun Tej's Next Film To Be Based On Balakot Air Strike?

Hyderabad, September 17 - Telugu actor Varun Tej teased his new film announcement today (Sept. 17). The actor took to Twitter and shared a video, in which he can be seen reading through a script. SS Rajamouli Stresses On The Importance of Making Films On 'Ramayana' And 'Mahabharata'

Toronto, September 17 - India's maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli has stressed the importance of making films by taking the essence of Hindu epics Ramayan, and Mahabharat to make the film industry strong. ## The RRR director, during the press interaction at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, said that there is a lot of emotional drama and action in the aforementioned epics and the movies on them can go beyond boundaries. ## Speaking highly about the Telugu film industry, Rajamouli said that Tollywood out of all other film industries has made more films by taking the essence of "Ramayana" and "Mahabharata". ## He further said that if the Telugu industry continues to make more films on these epics, then it needn't be restricted to only Telugu people and can go beyond the state and the country. ## Giving the example of his path-breaking film series Baahubali, Rajamouli said that it was the film that broke all barriers, and then slowly people started realizing that the Indian film industry is not all about Bollywood, but there are other industries, particularly the Tollywood. ## Lately, Bollywood too seems to have realized the importance of making films on "Ramayana" and "Mahabharta" which provide wholesome larger-than-life experiences.
