Mumbai, May 29 - In an era where the theatrical business feels uncertain and dominated by large-scale spectacles, arrives a quiet exception, Chidiya — a small, heartfelt film that has taken a decade-long flight to reach cinemas. ## Produced by Faqhrul Husaini under the Smiley Films banner and distributed by Reliance Entertainment, Chidiya is set to release in selected Indian cinemas on 30 May 2025. Written and directed by Mehran Amrohi, the film was completed nearly ten years ago. ## The film had its world premiere at the Zlín International Film Festival in the Czech Republic — one of the most respected global festivals for children's cinema — and went on to win awards in India, Russia, and New York. ## "It's a film that aged with grace", says producer Faqhrul Husaini. "We always believed that if the story had heart, it would find its place." ## Set in a modest Mumbai chawl, Chidiya follows two young brothers, Shanu and Bua, who dream of building a badminton court out of a junkyard. With nothing but hope and imagination, their journey becomes a quiet metaphor for resilience and childhood defiance. ## The cast features acclaimed actors Vinay Pathak, Amruta Subhash, and Inaamulhaq, alongside newcomers Svar Kamble and Ayush Pathak in standout child performances. The music, composed by Shailendra Barve and lyrics written by Mehran Amrohi and Jitendra Joshi, reflects the film’s emotional and lyrical world. ## Backing the film's theatrical release is Reliance Entertainment, where Amit Awasthi says, "In today's time, only content is working — and on that front, Chidiya is very strong. Mumbai, May 28 - Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has teamed up with KGF producer, Hombale Films, for a big Pan India film. An unexpected announcement was made official on Wednesday, May 28. ## Hombale Films has established itself as one of South India's biggest production houses, delivering a couple of the country's biggest blockbusters in the form of KGF films, Kantara, and Salaar. The studio currently has Kantara: Chapter 1, Salaar 2, and a couple of other big projects in the pipeline. ## While the specific details about the Hrithik x Hombale project, including the rest of the star cast, genre, and shooting timeline, are not known yet, it is said that the film is in early development. This also marks Hombale's debut in Hindi cinema. ## Hombale Films founder Vijay Kiragandur said, "Very happy with this collaboration. Mumbai, May 28 - Bollywood action star Tiger Shroff and actress Janhvi Kapoor are set to team up for the first time for a revenge action love story film, to be directed by Good Newwz director Raj Mehta. It will be Mehta's first directorial since Akshay Kumar-fronted Selfiee (2023). ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, the film has been titled Lag Jaa Gale. It is said that Mehta has been working on the script for a while and wanted to have a first-time pairing on board. Both Tiger and Janhvi instantly agreed to come on board the film upon hearing the narration. ## "The team was contemplating several titles, and felt that Lag Jaa Gale is the apt one for the story. It's a pure revenge actioner with a strong love story in the backdrop", says the report. ## The pre-production of Lag Jaa Gale has begun, and it will go on floors by October this year for the second half of 2026 release on the big screen. Karan Johar will produce the film under his banner, Dharma Productions. The film was initially scheduled to be released in April 2025, but was postponed due to a pending shoot. ## Recently, director Maruthi confirmed on social media that the teaser for The Raja Saab would be released in the next few days, and Prabhas has reportedly dubbed for it. Chennai, May 26 - Superstar Rajinikanth and director Lokesh Kanagraj have teamed up for the first time of action drama Coolie, which is among the most-anticipated Indian movies of the year. The film, produced by Sun Pictures, boasts a solid cast which also includes Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and Aamir Khan in key roles. ## Coolie is reportedly among the costliest Tamil movies ever with the budget of around 350 crores, according to the report by Pinkvilla. The budget includes the staggering salary of Rajinikanth and director Lokesh, along with other actors. ## As per the report, Rajini has received an upfront salary of 150 crores, which is among the highest of all time for an actor. Lokesh, on the other hand, got a pay cheque for 50 crore for the film, which is also reportedly a record for a director. ## "The remaining 150 crore have been spent on mounting the film, alongside the fees for other members of the star-cast. The total budget of Coolie excluding print and publicity is Rs 350 crore", says the report. It is understood that the makers have kept around 25 crore aside for print and publicity of the movie, making it a 375 crore budgeted title. ## Reportedly, the makers have already fetched huge non-theatrical deals for Coolie while theatrical rights are also expected to be sold for record prices. The post came after it was reported that actress Deepika Padukone had exited Vanga's next film Spirit and was replaced by Tripti Dimri for the same. ## Going by Vanga's post, it seems that some of the key details of the movie were leaked to the media and his post indirectly (without naming) slammed Deepika Padukone for breaching the code of trust. Mumbai, May 26 - Producer Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, in association with Zee Studios, has announced the new release date of Siddhant Chaturvedi and Tripti Dimri-fronted Dhadak, which is the sequel to 2018's Dhadak, starring Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor. ## On Monday (May 26), the studio took to social media to drop the first look poster, confirming that the movie will hit the big screen on August 1 this year. In one of the posters, Siddhant is seen with fire in his eyes, embracing Triptii in a protective grip. The second poster presents a close-up of Triptii’s character, her expression tender yet resolved as she clings to the man she loves. ## The tagline in the posters reads, "Marne aur ladne mese ek ko chunna ho, toh ladna", which translates to, "If you ever have to choose between dying or fighting, then choose to fight", which reflects the film's tone and theme. ## Directed by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 is said to be the remake of 2018's Tamil movie, Pariyerum Perumal. Hyderabad, May 26 - Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is set to keep the 'A'-rated (18+) tone for his upcoming film Spirit, starring Pan India superstar Prabhas and actress Tripti Dimri. The movie was earlier supposed to feature Deepika Padukone as the female lead, but she has now been replaced by Tripti. ## Sandeep Vanga has directed 3 films so far, and all of them were A-rated. With Spirit, the maverick filmmaker is not going to change his style, and has reportedly conveyed the same to the lead pair. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, the cop action thriller will be a quintessential Telugu entertainer, but the director is bringing a twist to the genre by spinning in an A-rated twist. "Apart from the use of ample blood in the action scenes, Spirit will also boast a lot of bold sequences featuring the two leads", says the report. ## The report further states that SRV has conveyed the requirement of shooting bold scenes to both Prabhas and Tripti, and they have agreed to the same. Pictures' supernatural horror thriller Final Destination Bloodlines has emerged as a success story and topped 50 crore gross at the Indian box office, becoming only the second Hollywood film of the year to do so. ## Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the film has surprised the trade since day 1 with its superb collection. It grossed approximately 39 crores in the first 8-day week. It remained solid in the second weekend to gross around 12.50 crores, for around 51.50 crores gross ($6+ million) in 11 days in India. ## As said, it is the second-highest-grossing Hollywood movie of 2025, behind just Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, which has grossed around 85 crores in 9 days so far. Bloodlines, however, was less expected to perform well, but it has done really well to surpass expectations. ## At the worldwide box office, Final Destination has minted around $187 million, including $94.5 million in North America and $92.5 million at the overseas box office. Mumbai, October 28 - Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur's romantic action drama Dacoit - Ek Prem Katha has been postponed from the Christmas 2025 release. The film is directed by Shaneil Deo and also stars Anurag Kashyap in a prominent role. On Tuesday (October 28), the makers unveiled a new poster of the movie and also confirmed that it will now hit the big screen on March 19, 2026, in Hindi and Telugu. The poster features Sesh and Thakur in an intense look, which promises an action-packed ride revolving around two ex-lovers. Dacoit is being shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu. Mumbai, May 26 - Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise takes Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning to new heights at the domestic and worldwide box office. The film has shattered the franchise record to emerge as the biggest opener. ## Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, The Final Reckoning flew to a franchise best domestically (North America), internationally and globally, with $63 million, $127 million, and $190 million, through Sunday. The worldwide debut is $204 million, which includes the US Monday holiday estimates. ## The Friday to Sunday domestic total of $63 million is the biggest for the MI franchise, beating Fallout's previous franchise 3-day weekend record of $61.2 million. Interestingly, The Final Reckoning is said to be the final movie of the franchise. ## The biggest contributor to the latest blockbuster outside the domestic market is Korea, where the movie has grossed $12.7 million so far. In India, MI8 has done very well and grossed around $10 million (85 crore) in 9 days as the 4th biggest overseas market for the movie. ## It will be interesting to see whether Final Reckoning can beat the lifetime gross of 131 crores of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, which is also the highest-grossing movie of Tom Cruise in India.
