Mumbai, May 28 - Ajay Devgn's aviation thriller film Runway 34 has been made available for early access on Amazon Prime Video before a digital subscription. Los Angeles, May 27 - Jon Watts, the director of Tom Holland's Spider-Man trilogy, has boarded actor Jude Law to headline his upcoming Star Wars series, titled Skeleton Crew. ## The news was revealed on May 26 amidst a plethora of Jedi and Rebel Alliance info dropped at the 2022 Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim. There had been speculations for weeks that Law would be in the series, and now he has officially been confirmed by LucasFilm. ## Taking place in the same timeline as The Mandalorian, and Book Of Boba Fett, Jon Watts reveals that Skeleton Crew is about "a group of kids who are about ten years old who gets lost in the Star Wars universe. Hyderabad, May 26 - Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu and Keerthy Suresh-starrer Sarkaru Vaari Paata is doing very well at the box office as it nears 200 crores gross worldwide. Despite mixed reviews, the movie has managed to sail through and is very close to earning hit status. ## Directed by Parasuram Petla, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, according to reports will stream on Amazon Prime Video after completing its theatrical run. Among the big gainers on the streamer, Alia Bhatt's Gangubai Kathiawadi stands tall and has attracted massive viewership and remained in the top 5 most-watched non-English film for the 4th consecutive week. ## It is a rare feat for a movie to find its place in the top 5 for such a long time, especially when a film completed 8 weeks in theaters with excellent numbers. But Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed is doing this with ease and is the most-watched non-direct OTT Indian movie on Netflix. ## During its 4th week (May 16 - May 22) on the streamer, Gangubai Kathiawadi scored 8.8 million viewing hours, which is higher than the second week (8.3 million). The cumulative viewing hours number of GB has now reached 43.2 million in 27 days. It is trending in the top 10 films in 34 countries. It was trending in 23 countries in the 3rd week. ## SS Rajamouli's global box office blockbuster, RRR Hindi version has made a big debut on Netflix. Launched on May 20 after completing 8 weeks in theaters with approx. 1120 crores worldwide gross, the period action drama film scored 7.18 million viewing hours in the first 3 days.## RRR, starring Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn along with Olivia Morris among others, is trending in the top 10 non-English films in 14 countries on Netflix. It is currently the number one movie in India, Mauritius, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Maldives. Considering the fact that RRR is still making money at the box office, the viewership numbers of it are very good. ## Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor's Hindi remake of Telugu sports drama film Jersey scored 4.47 million viewing hours in its opening weekend and was the 7th most-watched non-English film last week. It was launched on Netflix on May 20, after completing its theatrical run where it didn't perform well. One of the main reasons behind its comparatively low numbers is that the dubbed version of the original movie is already available on YouTube for free. ## Thalapathy Vijay's Beast Hindi version Raw, which was released on Netflix on May 11, scored 2.58 million viewing hours in its second week. Mumbai, May 19 - SS Rajamouli's global blockbuster "RRR" is all set for its digital premiere on ZEE5 and Netflix. While ZEE5 will stream South Indian versions, Netflix bought the Hindi streaming rights, and all the versions will be streaming on May 20. ## Earlier, Netflix had announced the "RRR" Hindi digital release on June 2, which has now been preponed to May 20th, coinciding with Jr. NTR's birthday. Netflix renewed the show for the second season after getting a thundering response worldwide, becoming the streamer's most profitable series ever. ## Ever since the second season of this blockbuster series has been announced, the fans are eager to know when it will debut. Many have been hoping it to release this year, but it looks like they will have to wait for a longer time as the series isn't coming until the end of 2023. ## Series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk told Vanity Fair that he predicts the next batch of episodes won't be ready for release until the end of 2023 at the earliest. Los Angeles, May 18 - Marvel Studios has an exciting lineup of movies and shows for the next couple of years. The studios' first Disney Plus series was launched in 2021 in the form of "WandaVision", followed by "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier", "Loki", and "Hawkeye" in the same year. ## As per the earlier reports, it was revealed that Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany-starrer "WandaVision" was the most-watched Marvel series on Disney Plus. However, it has now been revealed by Marvel president Kevin Fiege at it is Tom Hiddleston's "Loki" Season 1 that is the most-watched Marvel series worldwide. ## Kevin Feige said that Loki was a "bold swing" and the "wild ride paid off". He also revealed that the production on the second season of "Loki" will start in the next few weeks with star Tom Hiddleston and the entire cast returning. "Loki" is the first Marvel series on Disney+ to get a second season. ## Loki is set in a Marvel Cinematic Universe-adjacent world, in which the God of Mischief (Hiddleston) is a fish-out-of-water when he lands in trouble with the bureaucratic Time Variance Authority after absconding with the Tesseract.## Meanwhile, among the most-watched Marvel series on Disney+, are "WandaVision" and "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" at number 2 and 3, respectively after "Loki". What is more surprising is that it has hit approx. 4 million viewing hours more in the 3rd week than in the second week. ## The movie debuted on Netflix on April 26 after completing its 8-week hit theatrical window and was the number 1 non-English movie worldwide with 13.8 million viewing hours, followed by 8.3 million viewing hours in the second week, lending at number 3. Surpassing all the expectations in the 3rd week (May 9 - May 15), the movie hit 12.2 million viewing hours. ## Gangubai Kathiawadi continues to trend worldwide on Netflix. Currently, it is trending in the top 10 in 23 countries while in week 2, it was trending in 20 nations. For the third week in a row, Gangubai Kathiawadi is the number 1 movie on Netflix in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, and Kuwait, among others. ## Meanwhile, on the other hand, the Hindi version of Thalapathy Vijay's, Beast (Raw) debuted in the top 5 on the streamer with 4.8 million viewing hours. Mumbai, May 18 - It might sound strange or unbelievable to say that movies backed by OTT platforms going the theatrical way but it seems this is indeed going to happen as Netflix is considering releasing some movies in theaters this year with an exclusive theatrical window of 45 days. ## During the covid-19 pandemic, the popularity of streaming platforms has gone up exponentially. However, it looks like Netflix has understood what theaters bring as it is finally reportedly opening up more to the theatrical experience. ## Bloomberg's Lucas Shaw reported on Sunday that Netflix is considering releasing some movies in theaters this year with an exclusive theatrical window of 45 days. That's longer than the window Netflix has typically given the movies it releases in theaters, and more in line with what is emerging as a new windowing standard. ## One of the movies the streaming giant is considering bringing to theaters is Daniel Craig's "Knives Out" sequel. Scheduled to release in late 2022, "Knives Out 2" mystery film written and directed by Rian Johnson. It is the sequel to 2019's movie that was a surprise box-office hit, grossing $165 million in the US and $311 million worldwide in 2019 off of a $40 million production budget. ## This is not the first time Netflix is taking the theatrical route for its movies.
