Mumbai, March 3 - After the success of Bollywood star Sunny Deol is gearing up for his next set of films. With a couple of films already lined up for release this year, the actor has started shooting for Excel Entertainment's action thriller film Antony in Mumbai. According to the reports, the shooting of Antony kicked off on February 27 and is expected to be wrapped up by July this year. Billed as a suspense-driven action thriller that features Deol in a full-fledged action role, Antony is being directed by debutante Balaji Ganesh, who has previously assisted AR Murugadoss on numerous big-scale projects. It marks their first collaboration with Sunny Deol, who is fresh from the superhit success of Border 2. Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidwani's Excel Entertainment produce Antony in collaboration with A.R. Murugadoss' banner. Meanwhile, Sunny Deol will next be seen in emotional drama Gabru, which is slated to hit the big screens this May. Chennai, October 26 - Tamil star Suriya and director Sudha Kongara reunited for a new film, tentatively titled Suriya 43. The duo previously collaborated on "Soorarai Pottru" which received critical acclaim upon its release on Amazon Prime Video in 2020. ## Produced by Suriya and Jyothika's 2D Entertainment in association with Meenakashi Cinemas, "Suriya 43" is said to be inspired by real-life events. The movie was announced with the first look glimpse which shows a riot-like situation with a thrilling background score by GV Prakash Kumar. ## Apart from the film announcement, the makers also confirmed the primary cast. Suriya plays the lead role alongside Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Fahadh, and Vijay Varma. Interestingly, the last part of the title has been revealed, which is "Purananooru" while the rest of the title name is hidden.## Rustic. Powerful. Mumbai, September 27 - Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor's digital debut Jaane Jaan has had a blockbuster start on Netflix. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the mystery thriller movie emerged as the most-watched non-English film title worldwide during the week of September 18-24 on Netflix.## "Jaane Jaan" had the biggest opening weekend viewership for an Indian movie on Netflix with 18.8 million viewing hours from 8.1 million views in the first three days. It was also the second most Netflix movie (English and Non-English) during the same week, behind "Love at First Sight" (23 million viewing hours).## Produced under the banner 12th Street Entertainment and Northern Lights Films in association with Kross Pictures and Balaji Motion Pictures, "Jaane Jaan" is an adaptation of the 2005 Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino. It stars Kareena Kapoor as a single mother involved in a murder, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma.## The second most-watched Indian movie worldwide during the week of September 18-24 was megastar Chiranjeevi's "Bholaa Shankar". The Hindi version of the movie debuted at number 8 in the non-English category with 2.3 million viewing hours from 900K views while other versions also scored 2.3 million viewing hours. Chennai, September 14 - Tamil star Suriya and director Sudha Kongara are reuniting for their second film. The duo had earlier collaborated on "Soorarai Pottru" (2020) which won critical acclaim and also scored 5 National awards. ## Three years after the "Soorarai Pottru", the duo of Suriya and Sudha are gearing up for the second collaboration and for that, they have locked a solid rest of the primary cast. Tentatively titled "Suriya 43", the movie will be produced by Suriya's 2D Entertainment. ## The movie has been in the news regarding its casting. Suriya will play the main lead, and reliable reports have confirmed that Malayalam actress Nazriya Nazim is in the advanced talks to play the female lead. The reports have also confirmed that Dulquer Salmaan has been roped in and he is likely to play the brother's role of Suriya's character.## Apart from the aforementioned actors, the latest to join this solid cast is the Hindi film actor, Vijay Varma. He will reportedly be playing the main antagonist in the film which will be released in multiple languages, including Hindi. The pre-production work has already commenced on "Suriya 43" and it is expected to go on floors around November this year. ## Meanwhile, Sudha Kongara also has the Hindi remake of "Sorrari Pottru" ready to release. Starring superstar Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madaan, the movie is scheduled to release in February next year. Mumbai, September 5 - Govinda and Raveena Tandon's Dulhe Raja (1998) holds a special place in the comedy genre in Bollywood cinema history. Produced and directed by Harmesh Malhotra, "Dulhe Raja" was one of the highest-grossing films of the year and it followed with a tremendous response on television over the years. ## "Dulhe Raja" will complete 25 years in 2023 and if all goes well, the movie could get its modern-day version. According to Pinkvilla, Shah Rukh Khan's production house, Red Chillies Entertainment has acquired the negative and remake rights of the movie and is working on the idea of how to adapt it to modern sensibilities. ## "Very few know that Shah Rukh Khan is indeed a big fan of the comedy genre and Dulhe Raja is one of those popcorn entertainers that he likes. When one of the associates suggested the idea of acquiring the blanket rights of Dulhe Raja, SRK was game on for the idea", reports Pinkvilla. ## The report also states that the remake rights were acquired a long time back and Farhad Samji, who is currently working with Salman Khan on "Kabhi Bhai Kabhi Jaan", has been attached to make a fresh screenplay of the movie by retaining the world of the original and its work in progress at the moment. ## The original movie, apart from Govinda and Raveena Tandon, also starred Kader Khan, Prem Chopra, Johnny Lever, Asrani, Viju Khote, and Mohnish Behl among others in key roles. ## Stay tuned...
