Netflix Top 10: Kareena Kapoor's 'Jaane Jaan' Makes A Blockbuster Debut With 8+ Million Views

Mumbai, September 27 - Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor's digital debut Jaane Jaan has had a blockbuster start on Netflix. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the mystery thriller movie emerged as the most-watched non-English film title worldwide during the week of September 18-24 on Netflix.

"Jaane Jaan" had the biggest opening weekend viewership for an Indian movie on Netflix with 18.8 million viewing hours from 8.1 million views in the first three days. It was also the second most Netflix movie (English and Non-English) during the same week, behind "Love at First Sight" (23 million viewing hours).



Produced under the banner 12th Street Entertainment and Northern Lights Films in association with Kross Pictures and Balaji Motion Pictures, "Jaane Jaan" is an adaptation of the 2005 Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino. It stars Kareena Kapoor as a single mother involved in a murder, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma.

The second most-watched Indian movie worldwide during the week of September 18-24 was megastar Chiranjeevi's "Bholaa Shankar". The Hindi version of the movie debuted at number 8 in the non-English category with 2.3 million viewing hours from 900K views while other versions also scored 2.3 million viewing hours. The total viewership of the movie has reached 6.9 million viewing hours from 2.7 million views.
