Released on January 23 during the blockbuster holiday frame, Border 2 opened to a thunderous response across mass belts and single screens, driven by strong patriotic sentiment and nostalgia attached to the iconic 1997 classic. The war drama took a solid start with around 30 crore net, followed by strong growth on Saturday and Sunday. Sunny Deol's Gadar 3 To Be Set Immediately After The Events of Gadar 2: Report

Mumbai, February 6 - It was recently reported that Zee Studios greenlit Gadar 3, following the historic blockbuster success of its predecessor. Sunny Deol will be returning to play the lead role of Tara Singh along with director Anil Sharma. ## Gadar 2: The Katha Continues, which grossed close to 700 crores worldwide, was set 20 years after the events of the first film which was released in 2001. However, the third instalment won't have a huge time gap, according to a report in Bollywood Hungama. ## It is said that Gadar 3 will be set immediately after the events of the second film or it'll be set a few years after the incidents in the sequel, but there won't be a huge jump in the timeline. The makers reportedly believe that it wouldn't look logical to keep another 20 year of gap considering Sunny's age. ## The report further revealed that the makers had 4 ideas to take Gadar's story forward and they finally locked one for which the script work is on. Apart from Sunny Deol, Sakina (Ameesha Patel) and Jeete (Utkarsh Sharma), will also be a part of the third part. It all began in 2021 when Sunny Deol and director Anil Sharma teamed up for "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" which went on to become the biggest Indian blockbuster of that time. ## 22 years later, the team of Gadar reunited for its sequel, "Gadar 2: The Katha Continues" and scripted history with it. The movie went on to gross close to 700 crores at the worldwide box office and became one of the biggest blockbusters of all time. The mega success of Gadar 2 ensured that there would be the third film in the series and it is happening. ## Though it was already reported that director Anil Sharma trying the crack the idea Gadar 3, and according to Pinkvilla, the filmmaker has finally locked the basic idea and Zee Studios has green-lit the same.
