Mega Blockbuster 'Gadar 2' Final Worldwide Box Office Collection And Records

Mumbai, October 25 - One of the biggest blockbusters of all time, Sunny Deol-fronted Gadar 2: The Katha Continues has completed its box office run with extraordinary collections. Directed by Anil Sharma, it is the sequel to "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha" (2001) which itself was a massive box office blockbuster.

"Gadar 2" was released on August 11 during the Independence Day weekend and took a massive opening of 40.10 crores net. The movie remained unstoppable to score third biggest first-week collection of all-time with 284.63 crores net. From the opening day itself, "Gadar 2" stuck the right chords and resonated with the audiences' sentiment despite getting mixed reviews from critics.



The period action drama continued to shine brightly at the box office which led to the second biggest 2nd week collection ever in Hindi with 134.47 crores net. Week after week, "Gadar 2" remained one of the first choices of moviegoers and it ultimately became the highest net-grossing Hindi movie of all time, before Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan" claimed the top spot.

Produced by Anil Sharma Productions and Zee Studios, the sequel has completed 10 weeks and finished its run with approximately 525.70 crores net. Overseas, it minted approx. 65.50 crores and it finished its worldwide run with 686 crores gross. Made on a budget of around 80 crores, "Gadar 2" is among the most profitable Indian films ever.
