Dhurandhar 2 Locks Massive ₹245 Crore Non-Theatrical Deal; Ranveer Singh Film Doubles Part 1 Business
The Indian film industry is witnessing a monumental shift in non-theatrical valuations as the Ranveer Singh-led action epic, Dhurandhar 2, has reportedly locked one of the most lucrative deals in recent history. According to an exclusive report by Pinkvilla, the Aditya Dhar-directed sequel has secured a staggering ₹245 Crore non-theatrical package, cementing its status as a massive revenue generator even before its theatrical arrival. As per sources close to the development cited by the portal, the non-theatrical rights—comprising digital, satellite, and music—have been snatched up by industry giants at record-breaking prices. The digital streaming rights of Dhurandhar 2 have been acquired by Jio Hotstar for a massive ₹150 Crore, while the satellite rights for all languages have gone to Star Network for ₹50 Crore. Adding further to the deal, the music rights have been picked up by T-Series for ₹45 Crore, taking the overall non-theatrical value to unprecedented levels. For context, the non-theatrical rights of Dhurandhar: Part 1 were previously sold for a hefty price of around ₹140 Crore. With the sequel clocking in at ₹245 Crore, the brand value of the franchise has nearly doubled. The combined profit for Jio Studios from the two films is considered immense, especially given the unique production strategy employed by the makers. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The project was initially planned as a single, expansive theatrical release. However, due to the sheer depth and scale of the story, the makers came up with the idea of releasing the movie in two parts just two days before the release of Part 1. Since the production costs were largely absorbed during the initial filming phase, the revenue generated by Dhurandhar 2 is being viewed by trade analysts as a complete profit venture for the producers. Directed by Aditya Dhar, known for Uri: The Surgical Strike, the film features a powerhouse ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal. Produced under the banners of Jio Studios (Jyoti Deshpande) and B62 Studios (Lokesh Dhar), Dhurandhar 2 is positioned as a high-octane political action-thriller based on real-life intelligence operations.
