BCCI Announces Cash Reward To Team India For Historic Series Win Against Australia
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday congratulated the Indian Cricket Team for registering a historic 2-1 Test series win in Australia. It was a series that showcased grit, determination, and resilience of the highest quality.
After a massive defeat in Adelaide, India bounced back with a win at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), grind it out for a draw at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) & breach Fortress Gabba after 32 years to seal the back to back Test series win down under.
India is the only Asian team to win the Test series in Australia, and now, they have done it twice, both with the same margine.
The BCCI is proud of this magnificent feat and has announced a cash reward of 5 crore INR to the team which was led by Ajinkya Rahane after the first test which was captained by regular skipper, Virat Kohli.
"We are extremely proud of the series win. Beating Australia in Australia by a young team will remain etched in the history of Indian cricket forever. It cannot get better than this. I am so proud of everyone. Congratulations to Ajinkya Rahane and Ravi Shastri and the rest of the touring party for this remarkable feat", said BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly.
