As Hayes and Trick casually stroll through, Trick fielding a few inquiries, Hayes confidently makes his way inside the venue, assuring everyone that he'll handle his responsibilities at New Year's Evil.

We delve into the standout moments from Deadline, with a notable scene featuring Carmelo Hayes in the back, nursing his leg as referees attend to him. Trick arrives on the scene, probing for information about the incident. Meanwhile, in the ring, Cora Jade takes the spotlight, reflecting on her four-month hiatus. She acknowledges the fans' yearning for her return, asserting that everything is now back to normal. Curious about the fans' shift in opinion from dislike to adoration, she playfully questions the controversy surrounding her.



Lyra Valkyria interrupts the moment, welcoming Cora back but pointing out that Cora failed to mention her sneak attack. Lyra hints that Cora might still resort to shortcuts. Cora, with a playful demeanor, probes if she's stirred up some controversy.

Lyra responds, stating that while Cora may remain unchanged, things have evolved in her absence. Asserting her status as the women's champion, Lyra claims not to care about what Cora deserves. Blair Davenport interjects, reminding Lyra of her victory in the Iron Survivor match, a feat Cora did not achieve. Blair confidently predicts triumph at New Year's Evil.

Lyra challenges Blair's assertion, confident in her ability to retain the title, and remarks on their shared penchant for attacking opponents from behind. Nikkita Lyons enters the scene, expressing resentment towards Blair for past actions.

A chaotic brawl erupts in the ring, culminating in Nikkita and Lyra sending Blair and Cora tumbling to the floor. The segment concludes with a recap of the altercation between Fallon and Friends and MetaFour at Deadline. We're back with Kelly and Dragon Lee.

Kelly extends her congratulations to Dragon Lee for his recent victory and asks about his emotions. Dragon Lee expresses joy, stating that Saturday marked a dream come true for him. Thrilled to have Rey Mysterio by his side and having secured his first NXT Title, he acknowledges that the opportunity wouldn't have arisen if Wes had not been injured. Dragon Lee wishes Wes a swift recovery and vows to defend the title as vigorously as Wes did.

Kelly then inquires about his upcoming opponent, to which Lee cryptically replies that the answer will unfold in the ring.

Lash Legend, Oro Mensah, and Noam Dar (with Jakara Jackson) vs. Fallon Henley, Josh Briggs, and Brooks Jensen



Dar initiates an assault on Brooks from the perch of the turnbuckle, and their skirmish spills onto the arena floor. The match officially kicks off with Lash entering the fray, delivering an elbow drop that nearly secures a two-count. Lash forcefully propels Fallon into the turnbuckles, but she retaliates with a well-placed boot. Fallon answers a punch with a sleeper hold, but Lash maneuvers her into the turnbuckles. Executing a snapmare, Fallon responds with a flurry of forearms. Lash counters an Irish whip, delivering a formidable forearm shot. Fallon endeavors a sunset flip, but Lash adeptly maintains her footing, pulling Fallon back up. A leg drop to the back and a side kick follow, but Lash pushes Fallon away when she attempts a bulldog.

Brooks tags in, but Lash seems hesitant to exit the ring. Oro misses a forearm strike, and Brooks retaliates with a series of punches and forearms. Whipping Oro into the turnbuckles, Brooks follows up with a chop and forearm.

Simultaneously, Tiffany Stratton observes the match on a backstage monitor.

Brooks executes a faceplant, and Josh intervenes by striking Dar in the back. Brooks and Josh roll to the outside, exchanging punches. Lash lifts Fallon overhead, press slamming her onto Josh and Brooks outside the ring. Descending to the floor, Lash hurls Fallon into the ring post and apron, complementing it with a chop and a back splash. Lash proceeds to slam Fallon, securing a near fall. Applying pressure to Fallon’s back with a backbreaker over her shoulder, Lash misses an elbow drop when Fallon evades it. An attempted slam by Fallon is thwarted as Lash escapes, and Brooks tags back in.

Brooks delivers back elbows to Oro, who counters with an Irish whip. Countering with a crossbody off the turnbuckles, Brooks faces Oro's retaliation—a leg sweep and a Northern Lariat—followed by choking Brooks in the ropes. Brooks descends to the floor, cradling his ankle. Dar tags in and zeroes in on Brooks’ shoulder, while Oro inflicts more damage to the leg by kicking the ropes.

Brooks manages to land a punch, but Oro counters with a knee strike. Brooks sends Oro over the top rope to the floor, attempting a leg sweep in the process. Yet, Brooks’ knee gives out, enabling Oro to kick the injured leg. Dar tags in, focusing on Brooks’ leg trapped in the ropes before delivering a dropkick. Oro adds to the assault by kicking the ropes to intensify the leg damage.

Brooks retaliates with a punch, but Oro counters with a knee strike. Brooks sends Oro over the top rope to the floor. Oro endeavors a leg sweep, but Brooks leaps over him, causing his knee to give out. Oro capitalizes with a kick to the injured leg. Dar tags back in, landing a series of forearms and applying a reverse chin lock. Brooks counters with punches, attempting to grab Dar’s leg. Dar responds with a forearm and knee, executing a snapmare for another near fall. Targeting the bridge of Brooks’ nose, Dar maintains control with a reverse chin lock.

Finally breaking free, Brooks lands punches and tries to grab Dar’s leg. Dar counters with a forearm and knee, executing a snapmare for another near fall. Dar follows with a Nova Roller, but Josh tags in and launches a barrage of punches. He hits Oro with punches and then focuses on Dar. Josh lands a boot on Dar and sends Oro to the mat with a DDT. Josh concludes the match with a decisive clothesline, securing the three-count victory.

WINNER: Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen, and Fallon Henley

The doctor is observed carefully examining Carmelo's knee, ultimately giving him the approval to proceed with his match on Friday.

Trick probes into the identity of Hayes' assailant, to which Hayes replies that he remains uncertain, though it was someone he had prior dealings with. The broadcast then transitions to a commercial break.

The eight participants in the Men's Breakout Tournament are showcased, but before the tournament can commence, Lexis King astounds everyone by executing a surprise attack on Bearhill and Lennox, wielding a chair. Swiftly responding to the situation, security intervenes, swiftly escorting Lexis King to the backstage area.

Myles Borne vs. Oba Femi in a First Round Match in the Breakout Tournament



The bout commences with Borne initiating a side headlock, aiming for a shoulder tackle but rebounding off the robust stature of Femi. Myles follows up with a well-executed dropkick but finds himself repelled by Reeves. Borne exhibits nimble agility, smoothly floating over and landing yet another dropkick, securing a near fall. Subsequently, he inflicts knees to Femi’s back. Oba counters with adeptly blocked punches and retaliates with strikes of his own.

Femi executes a belly-to-back set-up, tossing Borne into the air. Continuing his momentum, Femi charges into a running European uppercut in the corner, prompting Borne to counter with a powerful slam, resulting in a close two-count. Oba strategically rolls to the floor, drawing Borne down onto the apron. Borne responds with a knee to the midsection, but Oba skillfully elevates him into the air. The sequence concludes with Oba executing a decisive powerbomb, securing the three-count for the victory.

In the locker room, Lyra engages in a discussion about Lola possessing the contract and Cora Jade's comeback. Lyra conveys her determination not to let Cora's return adversely affect the women's division. Nikkita firmly declares her intention to challenge Blair for the title. As Nikkita opens her locker, she makes a discovery—a photo of Lyra holding the title, with Tatum's head superimposed over Becky's.

As Dragon Lee navigates his way backstage, the broadcast transitions to a commercial break.

During an interview with Kelly, Tiffany shares her thoughts on their recent altercation. Expressing her frustration with Fallon Henley, Tiffany places blame on Fallon for her loss at Deadline. She critiques Fallon's lifestyle and self-proclaimed "top shelf" status, emphasizing that Fallon cannot afford to live that way. Tiffany vows to demonstrate to Fallon that she will never measure up to Tiffany Stratton.

Dragon Lee vs. Tyler Bate for the NXT North American Championship



At the onset of the match, a display of sportsmanship is showcased as they exchange handshakes. The lock-up commences, and Bate gains control with a side headlock. Lee responds promptly with a snapmare, followed by a shoulder tackle. A moment of surprise unfolds when Bate catches Lee mid-leapfrog attempt, initiating an airplane spin. However, Lee manages to regain his footing, and Bate follows up with a side headlock takedown.

Simultaneously attempting kicks, they skillfully block each other’s maneuvers. Lowering each other’s legs, they execute synchronized dropkicks. Bate secures a wrist lock, and Lee attempts an Irish whip, but Bate adeptly evades. Performing a leapfrog and maneuvering between Lee’s legs, Bate nearly secures a pinfall with a rollup. This sequence is followed by a headscissors takedown by Bate, met with a cartwheel by Lee, landing on his feet. Lee responds with his own headscissors takedown, countered by Bate with a handspring, resulting in a dynamic and evenly matched contest.

Bate ascends to the turnbuckles, only to be crotched by Lee. Lee places Bate in the tree of woe, setting the stage for a successful double stomp. Lee proceeds with an attempt at a powerbomb, but Bate counters. In an intense exchange, Bate aims for the Tyler Driver 97, countered by Lee with a hurricanrana for a near fall. Dodging a punch, Lee hits Operation Dragon, securing the three-count.

Post-match, Bate and Lee exhibit a shared sense of respect by shaking hands and exchanging a heartfelt hug in the ring.

In the backstage area, Brooks and Josh engage in a discussion about their recent triumph. Brooks acknowledges Josh's pivotal role in securing the victory by pinning Dar. Fallon takes a moment to apologize for her previous actions involving Tiffany. Brooks highlights that Josh's fighting style is better suited for one-round knockout matches, but Josh counters by referencing his performance in the Iron Survivor Match, expressing openness to exploring different strategies. Simultaneously, Lexis King and Ava stand outside Shawn Michaels' door. Lexis credits Shawn for his knack for making things happen, and Ava concurs, asserting that it comes naturally to him. Singles Match: Dijak vs. Eddy Thorpe



The altercation between Dijak and Eddy spills into the aisle, where Dijak forcefully propels Eddy into the ringside barrier and follows up with a kick while Eddy remains down. In retaliation, Eddy responds with a barrage of forearms and punches, but Dijak counters with potent punches and forearm strikes, sending Eddy into the apron and eventually crashing into the announce table.

As the skirmish intensifies, Dijak finds himself propelled into the ring steps, providing Eddy with an opportunity to regain some footing. Seizing the moment, Eddy maneuvers Dijak back into the ring, officially initiating the match.

Eddy commences with a flurry of forearms, but Dijak counters by forcefully running Eddy into the turnbuckles. Undeterred, Eddy fights back with a combination of punches and kicks. In the midst of their struggle, the top turnbuckle becomes dislodged, resulting in both Eddy and Dijak sustaining injuries. Utilizing the detached turnbuckle, Dijak strikes Eddy in the midsection, prompting the referee to call for the bell.

Following the conclusion of the match, Dijak doesn't relent and continues his onslaught on Eddy, relentlessly striking him with the dislodged turnbuckle. Officials step in to halt Dijak's assault, urging him to leave the area. Despite the intervention, Dijak returns, viciously dropping Eddy onto the middle turnbuckle, escalating the brutality of the attack.

Meanwhile, at Chase University, there's an update on their fundraising efforts. The bake sale has garnered an impressive $66,000, while the car wash has only contributed $245. Duke expresses his disappointment with the relatively modest amount collected so far and comments on Andre's current appearance, which appears less than ideal.

Thea expresses her interest in watching Riley Osborne's upcoming match, and Andre grants her and Jacy permission to tune in. During this period, Andre conceives a new idea for a fundraising initiative.

Subsequently, the broadcast transitions to a commercial break.

Keanu Carver vs. Riley Osborne in a First Round Match in the Breakout Tournament



Keanu and Riley commence their match with a lock-up, but Keanu swiftly seizes control, forcing Riley to the mat. In response, Riley retaliates with a side headlock. When Keanu endeavors a belly-to-back suplex, Riley adeptly lands on his feet, proceeding to execute a leg trip followed by a roll-up, securing a near fall. Subsequently, he applies a rear chin lock to assert dominance. Riley mounts a counteroffensive with a barrage of punches, a chop, and a leg lariat. Building on this momentum, Riley connects with a dropkick that propels Keanu into the turnbuckles. Despite this, Keanu retaliates with a devastating POUNCE, sending Riley sprawling to the apron.

Undeterred, Riley retaliates, landing a kick from the apron and swiftly ascending to the top rope. With precision, he executes a flawless shooting star press, securing the three-count victory.

In the backstage area, Dragon Lee is greeted by Catch Point 3.0, who commend his performance. Drew raises the topic of the tribute to Wes and inquires if it will be a recurring theme. Lee affirms that it will indeed be a regular occurrence. Drew and the others express their acceptance and agree to continue the tribute in the following week.

Lee then inquires about who will step up to challenge him, but Drew hints that Lee will have to wait until the next week to discover his opponent. The anticipation for the next challenge in Dragon Lee's NXT journey continues to intensify.

Upon returning from a break, Riley Osborne is observed strolling backstage. Jacy, playfully attempting to intervene, nudges Thea towards Riley.

Riley responds by expressing his gratitude for Thea being in the crowd during his match. Thea reciprocates, expressing her thanks towards Riley, initiating a brief conversation. Nikkita Lyons and Lyra Valkyria vs. Cora Jade and Blair Davenport

Blair counters with a leg sweep and attempts her own cover. Attempting an Irish whip, Cora finds herself leaped over by Lyra, who delivers a hip toss followed by a side headlock takedown. Blair re-enters, striving to grab Lyons' legs, but Lyons breaks free, making a tag to Lyra. Tatum Paxley makes an appearance on the ringside barrier, brandishing a feather. Despite Lyra's attempt at a frog splash, Blair counters with a suplex, blocked by Lyons. Cora delivers a forearm, but Lyra responds with an enzuigiri. Blair capitalizes with a Falcon Arrow on Lyra, securing a near fall. Following the match, Tatum Paxley dispatches Nikkita Lyons to the floor, where she crawls up to Lyra, embracing her.

In the backstage area, Tank and Hank contemplate their upcoming match against Gallus scheduled for next week. Hank expresses their eagerness to prove themselves against Gallus if necessary. However, Mark and Wolfgang from Gallus approach them and subtly suggest reconsidering their decision.

Joe Gacy enters the scene, promoting the virtues of enjoying a cup of coffee and adopting the moniker "Joe." He assures Tank and Hank that he won't interfere in their match and encourages them to trust him.

Next week's matchups are announced: Tavion Heights vs. Luca Crusifino, Lexis King vs. Dion Lennox, Jacy Jayne and Thea Hail vs. Kiana James and Izzi Dame, Tiffany Stratton vs. Fallon Henley, and Dragon Lee defending the North American Championship against a member of the No Quarter Catch Crew.

Trick James takes a moment to reflect on his recent triumph at Deadline, dubbing it a "movie." He acknowledges entering the match with four of NXT's best and emerging as the Iron Survivor. Trick reveals that he's heard about NXT's upcoming awards show and wants the Deadline match to be recognized as the Match of the Year. He emphasizes his pride in being "number 23 in LA" and solidifies his identity as Trick James.

Trick then shifts focus to New Year's Evil, hinting at a showdown with the "baddest man in NXT" and declaring himself the hottest NXT Superstar.

Before Trick can continue, Ilja Dragunov interrupts and heads to the ring. Ilja acknowledges their encounter a few months ago, expressing admiration for Trick's courage and pride in his journey. Ilja commends Trick for seizing victory in the final moments and sets the stage for a showdown at New Year's Evil.

As tension rises, Trick responds confidently, asserting himself as the man in NXT and expressing his intention to beat the best, becoming the next champion.

Ilja Dragunov interrupts, expressing his liking for Trick but emphasizing the sacrifices made to become champion and determination to stay champion.

Carmelo Hayes interrupts, apologizing but insisting on addressing an urgent matter. He claims to know who attacked Trick and accuses Ilja of being the assailant, suggesting Ilja gains from keeping them separated and creating division.

Ilja, maintaining innocence, denies the accusation. Trick, shocked, questions Ilja, who reiterates his innocence and advises Trick to talk to his friend (Hayes).

Hayes insists they're on the same page and reveals that he knows who attacked Trick, using the championship belt to hit Trick after a brief struggle.
