Vijay Sethupathi's 'Maharaja' Grosses 5+ Crore In Premieres At The China Box Office

Chennai, November 28 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja could be up for rich rewards at the China box office after the film off to an impressive start in the premieres there. The movie is scheduled for a full-fledged release on November 29.

Directed by Nithilan Saminathan, Maharaja grossed approximately $630K (5.40 crores) in the premieres and sold approximately 118K tickets. The advance booking for the opening day is 100K with 18K tickets sold over 26.8K showings.



There has been a shortage of Indian titles at the Chinese box office in recent times and those which got released during this period failed to make a mark. Maharaja, with a promising response in the premieres, has a chance to make it big there.

Maharaja was originally released in June this year and turned out to be a big blockbuster at the worldwide box office with over 105 crores gross collection. It is one of the biggest Tamil hits of the year and it can turn out to be a memorable year if it manages to get success in China.
