In the co-main event of UFC 281, Carla Esparza puts her strawweight title on the line against former champion Zhang Weili.

The fight takes place on November 12, 2022, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, United States. The event kicks off Saturday, November 12 at 6pm ET / 3pm PT in the United States on ESPN+ and UFC Fight Pass.

Round 1: Zhang with a leg kick, but it is Esparza who lands the first punch, a look to Zhang's chin. Esparza's jaw is keeping Zhang away. Zhang sticks with leg kicks. Body kick by Zhang. Zhang with a counter left. She starts to kick high, but Esparza stays out of bounds.



Esparza with a right hand. Takedown by Esparza, but Zhang starts a brawl. She wants to move Esparza's back and just muscles into her position. Elbow from the top by Esparza.

Esparza backs down and hits a few punches as Zhang stands up. Zhang hits Esparza with a right hand. Single leg by Esparza, Zhang reverses and ends up in side control. Esparza is hard to catch, she moves Zhang to half-guard. Zhang enters with punches as Esparza improves on the position. Zhang avoids an armbar and gets back on his feet as the round ends.

Round 2: Zhang lands a jab. Power double by Esparza, Zhang scrambles again. Zhang didn't let Esparza easily get into a reverse position, with one arm stuck between his legs. Zhang's arms down to the chin and she locks in a choke, which is tight. Esparza Taps!
