Indianapolis, 11 September - After Payback, WWE is gearing up for another Pay-Per-View event later this year. Although no matches have been officially announced for the event yet, there are already some indications of what might be in store.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. This will mark the return of Fastlane, the first since 2021. The event is anticipated to showcase top WWE superstars such as Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Bobby Lashley, Asuka, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Bianca Belair, and others.
Let's check out the top 5 bold predictions for WWE Fastlane:
John Cena & LA Knight vs. The Miz & Austin Theory
I'd like to see John Cena and LA Knight team up to face The Miz and Austin Theory at WWE Payback. Cena made his return to action on the September 1 episode of SmackDown, having wrestled his first match since coming back at the Superstar Spectacle event in India.
Later, Cena took on the role of the host for the Payback pay-per-view on September 2, and he also served as the special guest referee for the LA Knight vs. The Miz match at Payback. I believe this presents a great opportunity for WWE to generate significant revenue with a match featuring John Cena and LA Knight taking on The Miz and Austin Theory.
On the flip side, there's been talk of giving LA Knight a potential push, so this is the right moment for him to receive support from one of the all-time greats in John Cena.
Singles Match: Jey Uso vs. Jimmy Uso
Creating a storyline for Jey Uso versus Jimmy Uso could pose a challenge for WWE, especially after the significant change of moving Jey Uso to WWE Raw. Now that Jey Uso is being presented as a singles competitor, WWE must ensure he gets a prominent match on his own at Fastlane.
WWE has several potential opponents to choose from for Jey Uso at Payback, but I believe Jimmy Uso should be a serious consideration.
WWE Women's Championship Match: IYO SKY(c) vs. Asuka
In my opinion, there's a good chance that IYO will finally have an opportunity to showcase her skills this time around. She was notably absent from the WWE Fastlane card, and it seems quite apparent that her upcoming opponent for the event should be Asuka.
However, it's worth noting that a match between IYO SKY and Asuka for the title has been officially scheduled for the September 22nd edition of Friday Night SmackDown. Nevertheless, I believe there might be some brief interruptions or distractions during this match to set the stage for their official showdown at WWE Payback.
United States Championship: Rey Mysterio vs. Grayson Waller
Grayson Waller seems like a possible contender for Rey Mysterio's United States Championship at the event. Mysterio won the WWE United States Championship by defeating Austin Theory on SmackDown, and he's been performing admirably as the titleholder since then.
World Heavyweight Championship Match: Seth Rollins vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
At Payback on September 2, Rollins managed to hold onto his title by defeating Shinsuke Nakamura. However, after the match concluded, WWE aired footage of Nakamura launching an attack on Rollins in a surprising turn of events.
This is why I believe there should be a rematch between these two superstars added to the card.
