Robert Downey Jr. Made Over $430 Million By Playing Marvel's Iron Man

Los Angeles, March 2 - Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is arguably the biggest movie brand in the world and one of the main reasons for it is actor Robert Downey Jr., who played the superhero Iron Man in multiple films.

Robert Downey Jr. may have played his part in the MCU but the impact he created on the fans will remain last as it is hard to think of anyone else playing Iron Man than him. Playing Iron Man also brings a lot of fortune as well as millions of dollars to him who is one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood.



RDJ made his Marvel debut with "Iron Man" in 2008. At that time, he wasn't as big a star as today. As per reports, he got just $2.5 million for leading the first "Iron Man" which was also the first film in MCU.

"Iron Man" made RDJ an overnight star and never looked back since then. He then reprised the role in multiple films, including "Iron Man 2" (2010), "Iron Man 3" (2014), "Captain America: Civil War" (2016), "Spider-Man: Homecoming", and 4 Avengers movies from 2012 to 2019.

The actor was reportedly paid approx. $50 million for "The Avengers" (2012) and topped Forbes' yearly list of highest-paid actors as he was paid $75 million in 2013 and 2014. In 2018, RDJ earned approx. $81 million by playing Iron Man in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and "Avengers: Infinity War".

"Avengers: Endgame" (2019), which was RDJ's last film as Iron Man, generated $75 million for him. As per reports, the Hollywood superstar made approx. $435 million in 11 years of playing Iron Man in the MCU. It is easily the highest-ever earning for an actor playing a particular role.
