Mohanlal's 'Empuraan' Becomes The First Malayalam Film To Set IMAX Release

Kochi, March 18 - Superstar Mohanlal's hugely-awaited action thriller Empuraan: L2E has created history as it will be the first ever film from Malayalam film industry to set a release in the IMAX. The actor announced the same on March 18 with a new poster.

"It gives us immense pride to announce that #L2E #Empuraan will be the first ever film from the Malayalam cinema industry to be released on IMAX. We hope this is the beginning of a long and illustrious association between IMAX and Malayalam Cinema. Empuraan is easily the biggest Malayalam film and buzz for the same is soaring as the release date is getting nearer. It is the second instalment in the planned Lucifer franchise and the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer. The movie is directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran who also plays a key role in it.

Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies, Empuraan stars Mohanlal as Khureshi-Ab'raam / Stephen Nedumpally, alongside an ensemble cast consisting of Abhimanyu Singh, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyappan, Sachin Khedekar, among others in key roles. It is scheduled to be released on March 27 in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil languages.
