Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman 1984 release date pushed back to October 2020

Gal Gadot starring Wonder Woman 1984 release date has again been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Directed bt Patty Jenkins, WW84 will now release in theaters on October 2, 2020, if the COVID-19 permits.

Wonder Woman 1984 is the sequel to 2017's Wonder Woman with Gal Gadot in the lead role and the ninth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).



The official Twitter handle of Wonder Woman announced the new release date of the American Superhero film.

The film is directed by Patty Jenkins who also helmed the original Wonder Woman. It is produced by DC Films, Atlas Entertainment, The Stone Quarry, and Mad Ghost Productions while Warner Bros. Pictures will be distributed the film. Along with Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, the movie also stars Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen in important roles.



Upon the release of the original Wonder Woman in June 2017, the sequel of the film was confirmed in the following month. The film was originally scheduled to release on 13 December 2019 but got delayed to June 5, 2020, due to some pending work. At the time when coronavirus pandemic started to pick up, the theaters were closed on March 24, 2020, for an indefinite time and that again forced the movie to push back to 14 August 2020.

However, the pandemic threat is still looming large, the film was again delayed to its current release date which is scheduled to 2 October 2020 with the hope that the things will get back to normalcy.
