Drishyam 3 Release Date: Jeethu Joseph Confirms Release Date of Mohanlal-Starrer

Kochi, January 7 - The much-awaited next chapter of megastar Mohanlal-fronted iconic Malayalam crime suspense thriller franchise, Drishyam 3, has finally received a big update. Director Jeethu Joseph has officially confirmed the release window of the film, putting an end to months of speculation.

There were speculations that the Malayalam version of the film might have a simultaneous release with the Hindi remake. However, in a recent event, Jeethu Joseph revealed that Drishyam 3 is slated to hit theatres in April 2026, most likely in the first week, putting simultaneous release speculations to rest. The exact date will be announced soon.

The director also urged audiences to watch the film without preconceived expectations, stressing that the strength of Drishyam has always been its storytelling rather than hype-driven spectacle. Mohanlal will once again reprise his legendary role as Georgekutty, one of Indian cinema's most celebrated characters, along with the rest of the original cast.

The Drishyam series began in 2013 and went on to become a cultural phenomenon, with its sequel Drishyam 2 (2021) premiering directly on OTT and receiving widespread acclaim for its gripping narrative. Drishyam 3 is expected to continue the intense psychological and moral conflict surrounding Georgekutty and his family, bringing the trilogy to a decisive conclusion.

The Malayalam version of Drishyam 3 will release nearly six months before the Hindi adaptation starring Ajay Devgn, which is confirmed for a 2 October 2026 release. This follows the pattern of previous instalments, where the original Malayalam films set the benchmark before being remade in multiple languages.
