Chinese film Detective Chinatown 3 becomes the highest opening day grossing movies for a single territory in the world breaking the record of the 2019 Hollywood movie Avengers: Endgame which did $157 M in the United States and Canada on its first day. Detective Chinatown 3 did a huge 104 M advance collection for Day 1 and that is also the highest advance booking in China beating Avengers: Endgame ($ 95.5 M). Detective Chinatown 3 also broke the record of the highest opening weekend for a single territory set by Avengers: Endgame ($ 357).
