Box Office: Ranbir Kapoor's 'Rockstar' Re-Release Earns 7+ Crore Gross In 35 Days

Mumbai, June 21 - Director Imtiaz Ali's musical romantic drama Rockstar is considered one of the finest films of Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor. Released in 2011, Rockstar won several national and international awards but was deemed average at the box office with a worldwide gross collection of around 110 crores.

Rockstar gained popularity over the years and it has been more than a month since it was re-released in theatres and is safe to say that the movie has become a force at the box office on the limited showcasing which kept increasing week after week due to demand.



The movie was re-released on over just 8 shows but due to high demand, it is currently playing on over 400+ shows daily. In 35 days, Rockstar has grossed approximately 7.50 crores (6.50 crores net) with a total of 9000+ shows played so far. The collection of the movie kept increasing with every passing week.

The 5th-week collection of Rockstar re-release is approximately 2.65 crores gross (2.25 crores net) which is almost 3x of the original 5th-week run. The same trend is expected to remain for at least one more week as the movie is looking to score well over 10+ crores gross.

Including the original collection (without inflation) with the re-release collection, Rockstar has crossed 115 crores worldwide, including 91+ crores at the domestic box office. The movie has emerged as a big success upon its re-release and it will encourage other films to follow suit.
