Box Office: 'Pushpa 2' Beats 'Kalki 2898 AD' To Become Biggest Indian Grosser of 2024
Hyderabad, December 13 - Superstar Allu Arjun's mega-blockbuster Pushpa 2 - The Rule has beaten Prabhas-fronted Kalki 2898 AD to become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024. Both movies have grossed over 1000 crores worldwide and are the only Indian films of the year to do so.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 has grossed approximately 1060 crores globally, including 867 crores gross in India, in its extended 8-day first weekend, surpassing the lifetime total of Kalki which minted approximately 1042 crores gross, including 767 crores gross domestically. Overseas, Kalki is still the biggest Indian grosser with 275 crores gross.
Pushpa 2 has also beaten Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan (1055 crores gross) to become the 6th highest-grossing Indian movie of all time at the worldwide box office. It will outgross SRK's Jawan (1160 crores) and possibly KGF: Chapter 2 (1215 crores gross) and RRR (1230 crores gross) this weekend to become the 3rd biggest Indian grosser ever.
Aamir Khan's Dangal (2070 crores gross) and Prabhas' Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion (1788 crores gross) are currently the top 2 highest-grossing Indian movies at the worldwide box office. Pushpa 2 might be aiming to down BB2 in the long run depending on how it performs after the second weekend once the eagerness gets eased.
