The entertainment industry went through a drastic year in terms of releases with hardly any film getting a theatrical release owing to the complete closure of cinemas due to the covid-19 lockdown. However, as the business has started opening, Bollywood is also gearing up to stand on its feet all over again with release date announcements of many of the most awaited films ready to release since a year.

However, with many films are due to release, the inevitable box office clashes are bound to happen. In an overcrowded year with many releases, most of the Fridays and holidays will see box office clashes among the Bollywood biggies and some of the Pan India release. But one thing is for sure that the audience is on a treat for some high voltage action, a family drama, a big-screen romance for the entire year starting t from next month.

Here is a list of Bollywood clashes lined up as of now -

MUMBAI SAGA v/s SANDEEP AUR PINKY FARAAR (March 19)

Sanjay Gupta's new underworld drama "Mumbai Saga" has an ensemble cast comprising John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Suniel Shetty, Kajal Aggarwal, Rohit Roy, Anjana Sukhani, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Prateik Babbar. Lined up on the same day is Dibakar Banerjee's black comedy-drama "Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar", featuring Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor. Mumbai Saga definitely has an advantage because of its mass appeal and star power.

RADHE v/s SATYAMEWA JAYATE 2 (13 May)

One of the biggest clashes of the year is going to happen between Salman Khan's Radhe and John Abraham's Satyamev Jayate 2. Salman Khan fans have been waiting for Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai and the superstar not long ago confirmed its release in the Eid weekend. Both the movies will have a direct clash on May 13.

SHERSHAAH v/s MAJOR (July 2)

Both films are about patriotism and real-life military valour. Sidharth Malhotra plays Param Vir Chakra recipient and Kargil war hero Captain Vikram Batra in Shershaah, also featuring Kiara Advani. Major is a multilingual project that marks Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu's debut as a producer. The film casts Adivi Sesh as the 2008 Mumbai attacks martyr, Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. Shershaah, however, will have an upper hand due to star power.

RADHE SHYAM v/s GANGUBAI KATHIAWADI (July 30)

Alia Bhatt gets an aggressive makeover in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's biographical crime drama Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film is pitted against the romantic drama Radhe Shyam, starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde. Gangubai Kathiawadi can affect Radhe Shyam's Hindi market, otherwise, Prabhas starrer has a clear-cut advantage of Pan India release.

LIGER v/s BHOOT POLICE (September 9-10)

South heartthrob, Vijay Deverakonda, and Ananya Pandey's first Pan India film will have to face a tough challenge from Saif Ali Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arjun Kapoor, and Yami Gautam starrer horror-comedy film, Bhoot Police. While Liger will hit theaters on Sep 9, Bhoot Police will be arriving a day later on Sep. 10.

RRR v/s MAIDAAN (Dussehra weekend)

A clash that can set the Indian box office on fire. Producer Boney Kapoor wasn't pleased with SS Rajamouli when he announced the release date of RRR. Both the movies have Ajay Devgn connection as in Maidaan, he is playing lead and has a cameo in Rajamouli's RRR starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan. Both the movies will be releasing in multiple languages with a gap of TWO days. RRR will release on October 13, whereas, Maidaan will be hitting theaters October 15 worldwide.

PRITHVIRAJ v/s JERSEY (November 5)

The Diwali weekend looks poised for what could be the most fascinating clash of the year unless one of the films decides to prepone or postpone. An in-form Akshay Kumar takes on Shahid Kapoor, who returns for the first time on the big screen after his 2019 blockbuster, Kabir Singh. The historical drama Prithviraj, starring Akshay with Manushi Chhillar, runs into Shahid's cricket drama Jersey, also starring Mrunal Thakur.
