Independence, 4 October - Next Tuesday night, a significant clash is on the horizon as WWE NXT goes head-to-head with AEW Dynamite. Traditionally, AEW Dynamite airs on Wednesday nights, but the upcoming episode is scheduled for Tuesday, October 10th, setting the stage for a direct competition with WWE, which also airs its NXT show on Tuesdays.

This fierce rivalry revolves around the battle for television ratings, and WWE is leaving no stone unturned in promoting its show. They are dispatching top-tier superstars from their main roster, including the 16-time world champion, John Cena, and Cody Rhodes, among others.



During the October 3rd episode of NXT, it was revealed that John Cena would be in the corner of Carmelo Hayes for his match against his rival, Bron Breakker. Cena won't be alone; he will be accompanied by Paul Heyman, who will be supporting Breakker during the match. The presence of Cena and Heyman in their respective corners has always proven to be a crowd-pleaser, making it a compelling matchup that AEW will find challenging to compete with.

In addition to Cena's involvement, Cody Rhodes will also be making a significant announcement during the broadcast. This adds to the intrigue of the show and further disadvantages AEW.

Furthermore, there is an exciting singles match lined up, with Asuka taking on Roxanne Perez. WWE has been sending several main roster stars to NXT in recent weeks, including the current NXT Champion, Becky Lynch, which has heightened the anticipation for this special episode. It's worth noting that NXT and Dynamite previously engaged in direct ratings competition from October 2019 to April 2021. During this period, NXT managed to surpass Dynamite in the key 18-49 demographic on only one occasion. However, given the star-studded lineup for next Tuesday, WWE is likely to put up a strong showing in the ratings battle.

As of the latest updates, AEW has confirmed two segments for their show. One of them will feature Adam Copeland, facing off against Luchasaurus. Additionally, the AEW Women's World Championship will be on the line as champion Hikaru Shida defends her title against Saraya.
