Mumbai, October 27 - Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's Thamma had a good 6-day extended opening weekend at the box office. The vampire comedy has struck a chord with its targeted audiences for its connection with Maddock Horror Comedy Universe and the chemistry between the lead pair.

With positive word of mouth, the film has held its ground well despite competition during the Diwali festive period. The film's extended first weekend collections have been good, recording around 91 crores net in six days and 125 crores gross worldwide. The film is expected to enter the 100 crores club in 8 days.

While the weekend trajectory was good, it wasn't exceptional, making the upcoming weekdays crucial in determining its final box office outcome. The lack of new Bollywood releases this coming week is expected to help Thamma have a sustained run.

Meanwhile, Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa's romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has turned out to be a dark horse at the box office. Despite limited buzz and underwhelming critics' reviews, the film has managed to find its audience, especially among young people and in smaller towns.

The film has already crossed 50 crores worldwide within six days, including 49 crores gross (41.50 crores net) from India, signalling a strong acceptance. The film has become Rane's biggest grosser with today's collection.

Together, Thamma and Deewaniyat have infused fresh energy into the box office, proving that content variety and genuine audience engagement still hold the key to success.
