Mumbai, Dec 23, 2021: One of the legendary Blockbusters in the history of the Indian Cinema Dangal completes its glorious 5 years at the box office today. Dangal as everyone knows was released on 23 December 2016.

The Aamir Khan Starrer Dangal was one of the most awaited films of the year and there was so much hype surrounding the film. As a result, Dangal opened to an excellent response on its opening day with close to 30cr collections. Dangal also crossed 100 Cr plus collections in its opening weekend and was the 2nd fastest 100 Cr earner behind Sultan.



Dangal was probably the most 'Liked' film from the Hindi film industry and audience word of mouth was just on another level. This was the reason that despite Demonetization, Dangal became the Hindi film industry's Biggest Grosser and also the first film to cross 350 Cr plus at the Hindi Box office. It was 3rd consecutive Industry Grosser for the main man Aamir khan.

Dangal was a rage in overseas markets even in its first phase release. It was the Top overseas earner of the year and also became the highest worldwide grosser ever. But the film shocked everyone when it was released in China. The business of Dangal in China was humongous and was comparable to the Hollywood giants. When the run of Dangal ended in china, the film has already emerged as the highest worldwide grossing Indian film beating Bahubali2: The Conclusion.

Dangal is probably the Biggest career Hit of Aamir Khan and overall the film was also the biggest grosser as well as the biggest hit of the decade 2010s. Dangal was directed by Nitesh Tiwari under the banners of Aamir khan productions & UTV motion pictures. The film also starred Fatima Sana Sheikh, Sanya Malhotra, and Sakshi Tanwar in pivotal roles. The music of the film was given by Pritam.
