December 2022 Gets Crowded With Many Promising Titles

Mumbai, May 10 - December month has always been proven to be one of the most lucrative periods for the Film Industry as there are prolonged holidays from Xmas to New Year. Like every year, 2022 too will see many promising titles over Xmas. Below are the films which are scheduled to release around Xmas 2022. ## The biggest release is going to be the Hollywood tentpole "Avatar: The Way Of Water" which is a hugely anticipated sequel to mega worldwide blockbuster "Avatar" (2009). The first Avatar film directed by James Cameron had an excellent run in India and the hype for Avatar: The Way Of Water is huge and the film is likely to create a never seen euphoria. The film is scheduled to release on 16th December in India making it an early Xmas release.## "Ganpath" featuring Tiger Shroff in an action role will be released on 23rd December 2022. Directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Bhagnanis under the banner of Pooja Entertainment the film also stars Kriti Sanon. On the same day, Rohit Shetty's directorial comic-caper Circus starring Ranveer Singh will be released. The film also stars Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez and an ocean of supporting actors.## Superstar Salman Khan fronted Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali will be released on 30th December 2022 making it a new year release. The film also stars Pooja Hegde and Venkatesh. Farhad Samji is directing this action-comedy film under the banner of Salman Khan films. Mumbai, May 5 - South dubbed films in the Hindi format had been proved immensely successful in the past led by Bombay and Roja but they were always seen as an exception rather than a rule. But from the last few years, that exception has become the norm as the South dubbed films are not only grossing huge but also competing with the biggest Hindi blockbusters. ## The top 2 highest-grossing films in the Hindi language are not original Hindi films but the dubbed Hindi films from the South. Baahubali2 was the first dubbed Hindi film that created havoc on huge levels across all the Hindi-Speaking states. Earlier, South films used to have a decent run in Mumbai only and they never got the all-India acceptance. Baahubali 2 The Conclusion went on to smash every box office record. The film become the first and only Indian film to cross the historic 500 crores net box office collections milestone when the biggest Hindi blockbusters were grossing between 300-350crs. ## Six years later, the business of Baahubali 2 still looks way out of reach and there is no film even in the sight to challenge the numbers of it. Baahubali 2 became the biggest blockbuster since Hum Aapke Hain Koun topping the historic blockbusters like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge, Raja Hindustani, and Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. ## The huge acceptance of Baahubali 2 in the Hindi language changed the perception of the movie-goers and as a result, the public is madly waiting for big-ticket South entertainers in the dubbed Hindi language. The demand is huge and the South is supplying that demand. ## KGF Chapter 2 is the second highest-grossing film in the Hindi language with the final business looking in the range of 420 crores give or take some crores. The film will become the second film in the history of Hindi cinema to cross 400 cr net box office collection after Baahubali 2. Mumbai, April 8 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor returns to the big screens next week with his long-awaited sports drama film, "Jersey", which is the official remake of the Telugu movie of the same name. It will release on 14th April in the cinemas. ## Shahid Kapoor is coming after the blockbuster success of Kabir Singh which was one the biggest hits of 2019. There were only a few blockbusters at the level of Kabir Singh in the entire decade of the 2010s and on nonholiday, probably there was none. Kabir Singh made Shahid Kapoor a box office star and now all will depend on how he consolidates his position in the industry.## From the promos, The film does not look like a killer initial type of film. Even the music has not become very popular but these things will be neglected as the first day is a big holiday so its always going to have an audience from the first show. The biggest threat is KGF2 which is probably the biggest event film of the year and is releasing on the same day as Jersey.## Eventually, the film will depend on the audience's word of mouth. Holi Sees A Massive Day At The Hindi Box Office

Mumbai, March 19, 2022: The Hindi Box office has witnessed its highest single day at the box office thanks to the Holi festival. The combined collections of all the running titles are around the 33-34 Cr net. ## The bulk collections came from the Kashmir Files which is behaving like no other film in the past with all-time records being smashed. The Kashmir Files has contributed 19.15 Crout of those 34 Cr which is more than 50% of the total. ## Bachchhan Paandey collected 13.25 Cr which is a good number considering the competition. There was potential for higher collections for Bachchan Pandey that would have taken the collections to near the 40 Cr mark but Bachchan Pandey has underperformed a little bit on the first day. ## The other holdover titles like Gangubai Kathiawadi, The Batman among others may collect in the range of 1 Cr. Mumbai, March 19, 2022: The pandemic has hit the Indian box office in March 2020 and since then the cinemas got shut. When cinemas got opened, films struggled for any sort of footfalls. But there have been few big event films that were released at the Hindi box office and seen impressive initials considering pandemic. ## The biggest film is Sooryavanshi fronted by Akshay Kumar which was released on Diwali 2021, the biggest day of the year, and collected 26.29cr on its opening day. The conditions were not like today as there were restrictions in many circuits with no night shows when Sooryavanshi was released. ## The second-highest opening day post-pandemic is also an Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchan Pandey which collected 13.25 Cr on the first day of its release. Here again, the potential opening has been hit by the wave called The Kashmir Files else the opening would have been more than 20.00 Cr. ## Ranveer Singh starrer 83 which was released on Xmas eve collected 12.64 Cr on the first day and gets the third spot in the list. Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi went double-digit and put 10.50cr on its opening day. ## The box office monster The Kashmir Files which is running riot has collected 3.55cr on its opening day but that does not matter for a film that is smashing all-time records. Akshay Kumar has two biggest openers post-pandemic but that is due to no other films of other major stars having been released. ## Stay tuned.

Mumbai, March 3 - Yesterday Yash Raj Films announced that Akshaye Widhani is going to be the next CEO of Yash Raj Films. Widhani was serving as senior vice-president, finance and business Affairs, and head of operations at YRF Studios.## He used to head corporate and business development activities for YRF, including finance, business extensions, strategic alliances, joint ventures, co-productions.## Widhani said in a statement, “I am incredibly honored and humbled to assume the role of CEO of Yash Raj Films, a company in which I have spent the last 17 years of my life learning. Mumbai, March 2 - The blockbuster Sairaat director Nagraj Manjule is all set to make his debut in the Hindi cinemas with Jhund which is slated to release this Friday. Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of a professor who motivates the street children to form a football team.## In a chat with Mid-Day, the filmmaker revealed why he decided to make the film in Hindi and work with Amitabh Bachchan. Nagraj Manjule also revealed that he was a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan and had seen almost all his films in theatres. ## When asked about working with Big B, Nagraj Manjule admits he was star struck. Remembering his first meeting with the megastar, the Sairat maker said, “I’ve been a huge fan since I was a kid. But as a director, I knew I couldn’t be starry-eyed. I had to remind myself that I am making a movie with him".## Jhund is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biographical sports film based on the life of Vijay Barse, the founder of NGO Slum Soccer.
