Will The Hindi Releases of Vikram and Major Pause Challange To Akshay Kumar's Prithviraj?

Mumbai, May 10 - Two big movies from the south industry are all set to hit the big screens on 3 June. The first one is Kamal Haasan starrer "Vikram" which looks promising by its teaser. Kamal Haasan is a recognized name in the Hindi markets also. He has earlier given blockbuster movies in Hindi like "Ek Duuje Ke Liye" and other hits in the form of "Giraftar" and "Chaachi 420". ## "Vikram" may get the advantage of this name that Kamal holds. But the last Tamil movies dubbed versions failed badly in the Hindi circuit and it will again depend on how well Vikram movie is made, which will ultimately decide its fate in the Hindi markets. ## The second release is from the Telugu industry. The movie is titled Major which is based on the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and by the looks of its trailer it has the potential to do wonders in the Hindi markets. It may emerge as successful as Pushpa. ## Bollywood biggie Prithviraj is also releasing on the same day. The movie is riding solely on the star power of Akshay Kumar. So it's not going to be easy for these two South movies to find Audiences. Mumbai, May 6 - Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and Ranbir Kapoor shared screen space for a few seconds in director Rajkumar Hirani's all-time blockbuster "PK" (2014), which eventually triggered the speculation about the future collaboration. However, nothing worked out despite the rumors of both joining hands for the sequel to "PK". ## Last year, it was reported that Aamir and Ranbir liked a script and might join hands to do the film. However, the delay in Aamir's "Laal Singh Chaddha" and Ranbir's films once again spoiled the party as there had been no news about the same since then. It has now been reported by Pinkvilla that the project is indeed on it might be directed by Anurag Basu, who previously worked with Ranbir on Barfi and Jagga Jasoos. ## According to the report, Anurag Basu is working to develop a screenplay for both actors. It is said to be a visual effect-heavy subject that will be produced by Aamir Khan's own production house. "The movie is in a very nascent stage at the moment, in fact, the duo of AK and RK will decide on doing it only once they are absolutely satisfied with the final output", Pinkvilla reports. ## "It's high on the VFX project, and hence an extremely risky proposition. Mumbai, May 5 - The hugely-awaited historical action drama film, "Prithviraj" starring superstar Akshay Kumar in the title role, is releasing worldwide on June 3rd. Box Office: Runway 34 First Wednesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, May 4 - Runway 34 had a sluggish first-weekend collection with a little under 15 crores net first weekend collections. The weekend was the lowest for an Ajay Devgan starrer in a long time. The target audience of the film was the audience from high cities who likes to watch western-type drama content but they are no niche in number that they can't make a difference to any film despite the film catering to them. On Tuesday the film witnessed a surge in collections due to the Eid holiday but just like its contemporary Heropanti 2, even Runway 34 collections were on the lower side. Box Office: Heropanti 2 First Wednesday Early Estimates

Mumbai, May 4 - Heropanti 2 performed very badly over the first weekend of its box office run with the weekend collections being around the 15 cr net. This should have been the opening day collection or at least close to this figure considering the star power of Tiger Shroff. The film was rejected by the audience as that is what the first Monday collections suggested. Tuesday saw a rise in collections due to the Eid holiday but still, the collections are so little that it could not make any difference. Today (Wednesday) was another partial holiday but when the content of the film gets rejected, holidays don't matter then. The early estimated collections are set to be in the range of 1.25-1.50cr net box office collections.
