Superstar Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' and 'Dunki' Non-Theatrical Rights Sold At Record Price

Mumbai, July 5 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's popularity is at an all-time high after his historic comeback with Yash Raj Films' "Pathaan". This Siddharth Anand's directorial grossed more than 1000 crores at the worldwide box office and made SRK only the second Bollywood actor after Aamir Khan to reach the rare box office mark. ## Shah Rukh Khan's next two films "Jawan" and "Dunki" are the most-anticipated Bollywood films and according to the reports, both films are in red hot demand in the trade. According to Pinkvilla, SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment, which has produced both movies, has sold the non-theatrical rights for a record price. ## "It's Shah Rukh Khan v/s Shah Rukh Khan now as the top two non-theatrical deals of all time are under the name of King Khan. While the digital, satellite, and music rights of Jawan are sold for approximately Rs 250 crore, the same for Dunki is around Rs 230 crore", the report states. ## "Jawan", directed by Atlee, will also be released in Tamil and Telugu which is the reason it scored a higher deal in non-theatrical rights while Rajkumar Hirani's "Dunki" is an exclusive Hindi release as of now. "There are some non-theatrical deals which are still getting locked and the eventual total non-theatrical revenue for two films will be close to Rs 500 crore", the website further reports.## As said, the global stardom of SRK, especially after the "Pathaan" euphoria, has resulted in such massive pre-release numbers. The shoot of the film recently commenced and it is scheduled to release on June 14, 2024, on the occasion of Bakri Eid. ## "Chandu Champion" won't be having the perk of a solo release as according to the reports, Shahid Kapoor's yet-untitled comedy film with director Anees Bazmee is also eyeing the same weekend release in cinemas worldwide. ## Shahid and Bazmee are teaming up for the first time and the shoot of the film will commence in August this year. The movie will see the actor playing a double role for the first time. Over the last few days, a number of Bollywood films have changed the release dates, including the big guns. ## Ranbir Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga's "Animal" is one of the most-awaited films. It was supposed to release on August 11 but has now been postponed to December 1st this year due to delay in the post-production work. Just like its original date, "Animal" won't get a solo release and will directly clash with Vicky Kaushal's "Sam Bahadur" and the comedy "Fukrey 3". ## Directed by Meghna Gulzar, "Sam Bahadur" is a huge film but at the moment, "Animal" carries massive hype which makes it a strong contender to emerge as a box office hit. After the movie was postponed to December 1st, there have been rumors that "Sam Bahadur" might get postponed as it deserves a solo release, however, producer Ronnie Screwvala has denied such rumors and confirmed that it will be released as scheduled without worrying about clash with other movies. ## "We have announced our Sam Manekshaw release date months in advance and we intend to come on December 1st, come what may. They get married and the comedy of errors for this couple starts. ## The movie has so far scored 7.2 million views on Amazon Prime Video in the first 10 days. In its opening weekend (June 23 - June 25), "Tiky Weds Sheru" scored 3.4 million views and was the 4th most-watched Hindi digital title in India during the same week, according to Ormax Media. ## Despite the mixed reviews, TWS scored 3.8 million views during the week of June 26 - July 2 and was the 3rd most-watched film digitally. It was the dream project of writer-director Alaukik Desai who brought Kangana on board to play the divine role of Sita. ## Saloni Sharma and Anshita Desai of SS Studio was supposed to produce this VFX-heavy magnum opus project, however, there has been no development took place after since the announcement of the movie. It was later rumoredly got shelved due to some reasons though the makers didn't confirm the cancelation. ## Now, nearly after two years, Kangana Ranaut seems to have given a hint about the making of "Sita: The Incarnation" or something related to Sita. The film was supposed to release on August 11 during the Independence Day weekend. ## There have been rumors floating on social media that "Animal" is postponed as the makers wanted to avert the clash with "Gadar 2" and "OMG 2". However, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has himself shared a video statement stating the real reason behind the postponement. ## In a video shared on T-Series' social media accounts, the director said that the only reason for the film not coming on August 11 is the quality of the product. The other cast members of the Housefull franchise are expected to join Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh while it will be directed by "Dostana" fame Tarun Mansukhani. ## The makers haven't revealed much details about the upcoming film but they have confirmed that the movie will hit big screens on Diwali 2024.
