Strange: Good Reviews, Worst Numbers
Mainstream Hindi mass film, Vikram Vedha
was expected to be a box office winner which would get off to a strong start at the ticket counters. However, the film has gotten off to a horrid start.
The film collected a nett amount of around Rs 10 crores on its opening day, which is a considerably low for a mass film featuring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan.
The film is on course to collect around Rs 12 crores on the second day, Saturday, which is again another very ordinary number. The hopes of the film going strong in the weekend after the below-average start have quickly vanished after the Saturday collections turned out to be pretty low.
The interesting thing here is that Vikram Vedha is a mass film and more importantly, it opened to very good reviews. It was expected to do very well at the ticket counters, but that is not the case.
Despite the very good reviews, Vikram Vedha is turning out to be a dud at the box office which adds more misery to Bollywood which has already been reeling under a lot of pressure with the lack of blockbusters.
