Mumbai, February 19 - Maddock Films' blockbuster Chhaava is excellent on its first Wednesday as the collection jumps by around 25% from Tuesday. The film hugely benefitted from the Shiv Jayanti holiday in Maharashtra which is the driving force of its bizz so far. ## The collection of Chhaava on Wednesday is above or on par with its opening day which partly benefitted from Valentine's Day. According to the early estimates, the historical action drama scored in the range of 31-33 crores net collection on its 6th day which is sensational. ## The total collection of the film is now 197+ crores in 6 days and it will enter the 200 crores club by tomorrow, Thursday. Maharashtra was excellent, contributing nearly 60% of the total collection of the day which was expected due to the holiday. ## Chhaava may see a drop tomorrow but it is again expected to be back to best during the second weekend, especially since there is no competition from new releases. During an interview with Komal Nahata, the filmmaker was asked if he had to make a war film, which chapter of history he would like to explore.## The ace filmmaker mentioned that he would love to make a war film on the Jallianwala Bagh incident. He added that there is a true story that he is producing about a man named C. Sankaran Nair, who fought the English crown because, at the time, Colonel Dyer claimed that it was a self-defence act (Jallianwala Bagh massacre), which is simply horrible to hear.## The movie, which was earlier supposed to be titled Shankara, is directed by debutante Karan Singh Tyagi with Akshay Kumar in the lead. The movie is showing a drop of just around 20% from Friday, Valentine's Day and around 50% drop from Sunday. ## According to the early estimates, the epic blockbuster has scored in the range of 23-25 crores net collection on its 4th day, Monday. Mumbai, February 17 - The box office juggernaut of Maddock Films' Chhaava kept a 9-year-old cult classic romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam in check after scoring a fantastic first-week collection upon its re-release.## The heartbreaking romantic tale, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, saw a dip in its pace in the second weekend but still did decent enough to remain on track to become the biggest re-release grosser at the Indian box office by beating Tumbbad.## Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, Sanam Teri Kasam scored approximately 3.60 crores net collection in the second weekend, including around 1.35 crores net on Sunday to push its total repeat run to over 30 crores net. Box Office: 'Chhaava' Second Day Early Estimates

Mumbai, February 15 - Vicky Kaushal-fronted historical action drama Chhaava had a huge first day of approximately 31 crores net collection, which is the actor's by far the biggest opening. It is also the biggest start for a movie of this genre, beating Kesari (21 crores net approx.).## The massive opening day of the film was driven by the Maharashtra region and with positive word of mouth, it was all about showing an upward trend thereafter. On its second day, the movie is firing all cylinders with an impressive jump of around 20% for an estimated 36-38 crores net collection. ## The film continues to be sensational in Maharashtra which is contributing nearly 50% to its total collection. This kind of response was expected in this region due to the film's regional feel and the same is expected to continue in the days to come. ## The 2-day total of Chhaava hit 67+ crores net, heading for 100+ crores opening weekend which is excellent. Kartik Aaryan, Sreeleela To Headline Director Anurag Basu's Next Musical Romance Film; First Look And Release Date Revealed

Mumbai, February 15 - Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan will romance South Indian actress Sreeleela in director Anurag Basu's intense musical romantic drama. Bhushan Kumar will produce this film under his banner T-Series while Pritam has given the music.## The yet-untitled film was earlier supposed to be the third instalment of the cult Aashiqui franchise but it is not the case anymore due to right issues. The title of the film will be announced in due course as the makers have confirmed that the film will hit the big screens on Diwali 2025. ## On Saturday (February 15), T-Series announced the film officially with the first look teaser. Nag Ashwin To Direct Alia Bhatt Before Starting Prabhas-Fronted 'Kalki 2'

Mumbai, February 15 - The eagerly awaited Kalki Part 2 is set to be delayed as director Nag Ashwin is looking to start a different film before this Prabhas-fronted blockbuster. The producer has been busy saying the Kalki 2 would start in 2025 but the plans seem to have changed. ## According to the report by Pinkvilla, the National Award-winning director is in advanced talks with Bollywood star Alia Bhatt to headline his next. The genre and other aspects are kept under wraps for now, but it is said that the subject is close to the director's heart and is set to make it with Gangubai Kathiawadi star. ## Alia too has reportedly loved the world that Nag is looking to create and she is excited to collaborate with the maverick filmmaker. Box Office: 'Sanam Teri Kasam' Re-Release Second Friday (Day 8) Collection

Mumbai, February 15 - After the fantastic first week, Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane's romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam re-release has had a good hold on its second Friday despite the storming opening of Vicky Kaushal-fronted Chhaava. ## The film did benefit from Valentine's Day to some extent, as shows have been significantly reduced due to Chhaava. It still performed much better than all other movies, scoring approximately 1.10 crores net collection on its second Friday. ## The total collection of the film is around 27.60+ crores net after 8 days and it needs another less than 5 crores more to become the biggest re-release grosser in India, beating last year's blockbuster Tumbbad (32 crores net). The sensational performance of Chhaava, however, has delayed its wait to reach the top but it is certainly expected to get there. ## The blockbuster success of Sanam Teri Kasam's re-release is a good thing for its sequel which is expected to debut next year during the same time. The movie had fantastic pre-sales, easily the biggest of the year. ## Directed by Laxman Utekar, the movie exploded in Maharashtra which was expected due to its regional set-up, followed by a decent response in other areas as early estimates suggest the opening day collection to be in the range of 30-32 crores net. ## There are talks about the self-bookings but overall, the movie has performed on its merit. The opening day collection also got a push due to Valentine's Day, although it is a completely different product to match the vibe of this day. ## The initial word of mouth is on the positive side and that's all it needs to go bonkers as the eagerness to watch it is already there. Mumbai, February 14 - The re-release trend in Bollywood is going strong with a couple of cult classics being readied for their big-screen re-launch. This formula is working well for the industry as a few films have turned into big success including the latest blockbuster re-release, Sanam Teri Kasam. ## Recently, it was confirmed that superstars Aamir Khan and Salman Khan's iconic comedy Andaz Apna Apna, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, would be re-released in April this year. Now, Santoshi's one more cult classic, Ghatak, starring Sunny Deol is gearing up for re-launch. ## According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, the iconic action drama, which was a huge success in its original release in 1996, will be re-released in cinemas across the country on February 28. In a drastic turn of events from the original run, the movie is proving to be a mega success at the box office. ## On Thursday (day 7), Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru's directorial minted approximately 2.15 crores net collection, pushing the first week total to around 26.50+ crores net. 'Chhaava' Opening Day Box Office Expectations

Mumbai, February 13 - Vicky Kaushal reunited with director Laxman Utekar after the success of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke for the historical action drama Chhaava, based on the life of Maratha king Sambhaji. It also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in prominent roles along with others. ## Chhaava is one of the biggest Bollywood historical action drama films and is set to take possibly the biggest start in this genre. Slated to hit the big screens on February 14, the movie was censored with a U/A certificate with an approved theatrical runtime of 2 hours and 41 minutes. ## Produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, Chhaava is expected to be released on over 3500 screens and the pre-sales for the same is fantastic, added by allegedly some share of self-bookings. Even without it, the bookings are easily the best for a Bollywood title of the year. ## As of 8 PM on February 13, the film has sold around 400K tickets worth over 11 crores gross collection for the opening day. The final sales can finish around 13 crores, setting the stage for a big opening. These sorts of pre-sales can drive the opening of close to 25 crores net which will put the film as number 1 in the historical genre. ## Chhaava is expected to perform strongly in the Maharastra region due to the regional feel and the pre-sales are also driven by this region.
