Bala Has A Solid Opening; Other Releases Dull On Friday
Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar, and Yami Gautam starrar Bala has a solid opening at the box office as it earned 10.15 Cr India net. Bala becomes the highest opening collection movie for Ayushmann Khurrana. Previously, Dream Girl was the highest opening for the National Award Winner which earned 10.05 Cr India net. ##
Bala released on nearly 3000 screens in India while it got around 550 screens overseas. It is also the biggest opening for Ayushmann Khurrana to date. Like the highest opening collection, here, Dream Girl was also the highest opening for him before Bala. ##
Bala however, started slowly in the morning as occupancy in the first part of the day was around 10%. Morning onwards, as the day progressed, occupancy kept peaking and it was the highest in the night with nearly 55%. Overall, Bala has a good response on the first day with nearly 30% occupancy for the day.##
Maharashtra region has a solid day with around 25% occupancy. Mostly, Bala performed really well in the south region. Delhi NCR too had a good occupancy with around 35% for the day. Chandigarh, after a slow start in the morning and afternoon with around 5% occupancy, the night occupancy in this part was good with 30%. ##

Bala is a similar kind of movie Ujda Chaman which was released on previous Friday. However, Ujda Chaman collected decently in the first week with approx 12 Cr India net whereas, Bala opens with excellent numbers. It may earn approx 45 Cr India net in the opening weekend. Clearly, Ayushmann Khurrana's recent success has played its part. ##
Housefull 4, which is nearing to 200 Cr India net club, slows down a bit on its third Friday as it earned approx 1.50 Cr India net and takes its total collection to 191.23 Cr India net while its worldwide collection is 266 Cr.##
Bala, however, is clearly affecting Housefull 4 and it might delay Housefull 4 to enter in 200 Cr club in any time soon. However, the collection will pick a bit on Saturday and Sunday, but at the moment, Bala is dominating the box office.##

On the other hand, Bypass Road, and Satellite Shankar has a dull opening as both earned approx 50 Lakh each on day one. On a larger note, both the movies are facing a tough competetion from Bala and Housefull 4 and it is not going to end any time soon.##
