Baahubali fame, Prabhas is all set to team up with the Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior director Om Raut for upcoming magnum opus Adipurush. The movie was announced on Tuesday (August 18), and this dream project of Om Raut is said to be an adaption of Ramayana.## This mega budgeted project will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair under the banners of T-series and Retrophiles. Going with the theme of this movie, Prabhas reportedly will enact the role of Lord 'Ram' in this epic drama. ## Talking about the project, Prabhas said in the statement as reported by Hindustan Times, "Every role and every character comes with its own challenges, but portraying a character like this comes with tremendous responsibility and pride. I am very excited to portray this character from our epic especially the way Om has designed it. Newton actor Rajkummar Rao has been roped in the Hindi remake of Telugu film investigative thriller Hit which starred Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma in the leading roles, its makers announced on Wednesday. So it’s a troubled character. I wanted to cast someone who can bring that darkness to the role and still make the audience root for him with a matured performance."## The Hindi version will be produced by Dil Raju and Kuldeep Rathore. The director also said that he had his eyes on Rajkummar Rao and was looking forward to working with him for a long time and now he is elated to work with both Rajkummar and Dil Raju.## "I felt Raj can evoke that kind of response. I have been following Rajkummar’s work ever since I watched Shaitaan. He is a terrific actor and has managed to surprise us every time with his performances. Shahid Kapoor seems to become the first choice of the filmmakers and producers when it comes to the Hindi remake of the South Indian movies. After the blockbuster Kabir Singh that was the Hindi adaptation of the Telugu movie Arjun Reddy, Shahid Kapoor is currently working on Jersey which is also a remake of the Telugu movie with the same name that starred Nani in the lead role. ## Now, according to the Mid-Day report, the makers of the Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru starring Suriya has approached Shahid Kapoor for its Hindi remake to play the lead role. However, Shahid Kapoor is yet to give a nod for its Hindi adaptation. ## Regarding the Hindi remake and Shahid being approached for the role, a source revealed to the tabloid, “The film was always supposed to be made in multiple languages. Shahid enjoyed a mammoth hit in Kabir Singh last year, which was the Hindi adaptation of the Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy. So, he was the first choice of the makers. The actor is currently going through the script. After the leading man is locked, the team will zero in on the principal cast.”## Talking about the original Soorarai Pottru, it is an action-drama film directed by Sudha Kongara while Suriya and Guneet Monga have co-produced the film under the banners 2D Entertainment and Sikhya Entertainment. Along with Suriya in the lead role, the film also stars Aparna Balamurali, Jackie Shroff, Urvashi, Mohan Babu, Paresh Rawal, Sampath Raj, and Karunas in important roles.## About the Soorarai Pottru's release, the film was originally scheduled to be released on April 9 but got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the nationwide lockdown.
