Box Office: Blockbusters 'Sita Ramam', 'Bimbisara', And 'Karthikeya 2' Crosses Combine 200 Crores Worldwide Gross

Hyderabad, August 23 - The Telugu film industry has delivered three blockbusters in the month of August 2022 in the form of Sita Ramam, Bimbisara, and Karthikeya 2. This is probably the first time in many years that the Telugu industry has delivered three big blockbusters at the box office. ## The three aforementioned films have crossed 200 crores at the worldwide box office, the first time for Telugu movies since May this year when Mahesh Babu's "Sarkaru Vaari Paata" was released. In August, actor Nikhil Siddhartha's sensational blockbuster "Karthikeya 2" is leading the pack, scoring approx. 35% of total gross collection worldwide. ## The mystical action-adventure film has grossed 74.2 crores in 10 days, including 63.8 crores at the domestic box office. The movie opened to very good positive reviews from critics and audiences which transformed into big box office numbers. "Karthikeya 2" also becomes the highest-grossing film of Nikhil's career.## The second highest-grossing Telugu movie this month is director Hanu Raghvapudi's period romantic drama film "Sita Ramam". The Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer has been the most loved film of the month and has grossed approx. 66 crores so far in 18 days and still going strong.## The third big Telugu blockbuster of the month is Nandamuri Kalyan Ram's time travel fantasy action film "Bimbisara". It was one of the most hyped tier-2 Telugu movies and it also performed accordingly, becoming the biggest grosser of Kalyan Ram's career. Released on the same day as "Sita Ramam", the Mallidi Vassishta-directed is a little behind the former and has grossed approx. 60 crores so far.## The combined budget of all three films is around 80 crores while their worldwide gross collection currently stands at 201 crores. Hyderabad, August 22 - Megastar Chiranjeevi, who is celebrating his 67th birthday today, announced a few days ago that he will build a hospital for Telugu film workers at Chitrapuri Colony in Hyderabad and it will be operational by his next birthday. ## Participating in an event associated with Celebrity Cricket, the actor assured those present that the hospital would be operational by the time his birthday arrives next year. Addressing the gathering, Chiranjeevi said, "I've got this desire to build a hospital at Chitrapuri Colony. I have been nurturing this thought for some time now".## "I want to build a hospital at least with 10 beds. This hospital should be able to address all the health issues of cine workers, which don't require them to go to big hospitals. This hospital should be beneficial to all cine workers, who come under the BPL category or who get a daily wage", the actor said.## "The satisfaction I get out of doing this cannot be measured. So, the moment I got this thought, I started planning. Box Office: Karthikeya 2 Scored An Excellent First Full Week

Hyderabad, August 20 - Telugu mystical action-adventure film, Karthikeya 2 is on a dream run at the box office. The movie, starring Nikhil Siddharth in the title role, had a limited release but went on to outshine other new releases to become a massive blockbuster within a week. ## "Karthikeya 2" was released on Saturday (August 13) and opened to super positive reviews and word of mouth. It scored 5.04 crores net on the first day and went on to finish the first full week (7 days) with approx. 36 crores net, including both Telugu and Hindi languages.## The movie was valued at approx. 13 crores worldwide and it has already scored over 28 crores Share the collection, including 18.7 crores share in Telugu states (AP/TG). It became the highest-grossing film for actor Nikhil in just 4 days and there is not stopping it at the moment. ## Meanwhile, the dubbed Hindi version of the movie is showing no sign of taking a back seat. The Hindi version opened with just 7 lakh on the first day but thanks to positive word of mouth, it grew exponentially throughout the first week and never dropped at once in the first 7 days. The total Hindi net collection is 8.21 crores.## The growth of film in the Hindi language can be understood by the number of shows it added over the week. Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay's Historic Novel Anandamath Gets Film Adaptation, Titled '1770'

Hyderabad, August 17 - The historic Bengali novel, Anandamath by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay is getting a film adaptation soon. Titled 1770, the pan-India film will be directed by SS Rajamouli protégé Ashwin Gangaraju and it is being created by author-filmmaker Ram Kamal Mukherjee. ## Ashwin Gangaraju has assisted maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli in "Eega" and "Baahubali" (both series). He made his debut as a director with the critically acclaimed film "Aakashvani" in 2021. Legendary V Vijayendra Prasad is writing the story and screenplay of "1770". ## "This subject was a huge challenge for me, but with legendary V Vijayendra Prasad sir writing the adapted story and screenplay, I think what we have on paper is a blockbuster cinematic experience", affirms director Ashwin Gangaraju.## "As a filmmaker, I'm more drawn towards the stories which have periodic setups, bigger emotions, scope for larger than life action, etc and this is something that sits in perfectly for me.
