Akshay Kumar To Replace Kartik Aaryan From Dostana 2 On Karan Johar's Request?
Mumbai, April 21, 2021: After the ouster of Kartik Aaryan from Dharma Productions' Dostana 2 due to creative differences, everyone is speculating who would replace the actor as the new male lead in the film. ## While the official confirmation is yet to be made, reports claim that it is Akshay Kumar who came to rescue the production house. As per a report in HT, Dharma Productions has approached Akshay and requested him to join the cast of Collin D'Cunha directorial to save them from this tricky situation. ## "Karan Johar has personally requested Akshay to come on board Dostana 2 and help him out, as lots of money has already been invested in the shoot of the film. So, in all likelihood, Akshay will join the cast", said a source quoted by Hindustan Times.## On April 16, Dharma Productions issued a statement on Kartik Aaryan no longer being part of the film, though the exact reason behind Kartik's ouster wasn't revealed. However, it is said that Karan Johar was not happy with Kartik's "unprofessional behavior" which led to his omission from the sequel to Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham starrer Dostana. The filmmaker also reportadly vowed not to work again with the actor in the future on any project. ## Talking about the film, Dostana 2 is a romantic comedy film about a brother and sister duo falling for the same guy.
