SummerSlam Headliner Set: Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor For The WWE World Heavyweight Championship

BY SACNILK

On the July 17 episode of WWE Raw, an interview was held with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Byron Saxton. With WWE SummerSlam just a few weeks away, Rollins was questioned about his plans for defending the title.## Rollins expressed his belief that the championship deserved to be defended in a prominent match. Soon after, Finn Balor interrupted the interview and made it clear that he sought a rematch. He vowed to exact revenge by winning the title and altering Rollins' life, much like Rollins had taken his Universal Championship in 2016. ## In response, Rollins stated that the title held more significance than their personal grievances, and if Balor simply wanted to settle a score, the championship need not be involved. Balor began to walk away but unexpectedly attacked the champion. ## Later in the episode, the broadcast team confirmed that Rollins would indeed defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Balor at WWE SummerSlam. It's worth noting that Rollins had previously emerged victorious against Balor to retain the title at WWE Money in the Bank. Balor's chances in that match were hindered by a distraction from Damian Priest. ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.

The WWE Women's Tag Team Championships underwent a surprising change on the July 17 edition of Monday Night Raw. Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville managed to pull off an upset by defeating Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. Deville secured the victory by pinning Morgan after delivering a powerful running knee strike, following Green's execution of an Unprettier. ## With this triumph, Green and Deville put an end to Morgan and Rodriguez's third championship reign, which lasted for a mere 17 days. Morgan and Rodriguez initially captured the titles at the Money In The Bank premium live event, where they emerged victorious against the formidable duo of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. ## AND NEW WOMEN'S TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!@ImChelseaGreen @SonyaDevilleWWE #WWERaw pic.twitter.com/ZzCUNW1FKh— WWE on FOX (@WWEonFOX) July 18, 2023 ## Furthermore, this achievement marks the first-ever championship win for both Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green within WWE. The pair have been collaborating as a tag team since February. ## Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green: A Dynamic Duo to Watch ## During an interview with Maria Menounos, Sonya Deville discussed her partnership with Chelsea Green in WWE. Green made her return to WWE at WWE Royal Rumble 2023, and soon after, she joined forces with Deville, forming a formidable tag team leading up to WrestleMania 39. The duo participated in the Women's WrestleMania Showcase and have continued to team up ever since. ## Deville highlighted the success she experienced with her previous tag team partner, Mandy Rose, as they were best friends. She further explained how she and Green instantly connected and developed great chemistry together. ## “Me and Mandy were best friends, and I think that’s why the chemistry worked. Chelsea and I hadn’t talked in a while, and then when she came back to WWE, we ended up as partners immediately. We just clicked and hit it off. It’s so cool, and I mess around with her all the time because she’s so over the top and opposite of me in a lot of ways. She’ll come with an all-pink outfit, with pink sunglasses, pink earrings, pink shoes, pink toenails, and I’m like, ‘How did this happen?’ Here I am like Darth Vader or Wednesday Addams [wearing all black]. I’m like, ‘How did I get stuck with you?’ It’s funny," Deville said. ## To stay updated with all the latest combat sports news, add Sacnilk.com to your Google News feeds and follow us on Twitter.
