The reasons given for the change were rather underwhelming. ## According to Fightful Select, a "good reason," hints at a possible physical concern. However, upon investigation, the report states that both women were in good health and available for the event. The actual reason behind the match's postponement became clear during the post-WWE Raw show. WWE management has been insistent on limiting the number of matches and the duration of Pay-Per-View shows. ## Consequently, some matches that were initially slated for Summerslam were relocated to other events. In the case of Becky Lynch vs. Trish Stratus, it was decided that the match's time would have been severely restricted on Summerslam, prompting the decision to move it to a future episode of Raw. There was also consideration given to shifting it to WWE Payback instead. ## It appears that both Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus were dissatisfied with this adjustment, and their displeasure became apparent in the days leading up to the Raw match setup. Lynch spoke of her initial enjoyment during the writing process, where she poured her thoughts onto paper and delved into her memories without external influences. However, she soon came to realize that writing was a sophisticated craft, prompting her to undertake a year-long writing course to enhance her skills. ## In her forthcoming autobiography, Lynch plans to delve into the depths of her personal experiences and share the intimate details of her life. At some points, you look at yourself and go, 'oh, no, I was the asshole.' Things like that, where you have to be really honest with yourself, is quite humbling. I did love the writing process, especially the early writing process where it was a pure, 'let me get all my thoughts, ideas and memories down on paper. Let me write without the moral police being on my shoulder, without the public judgment on my shoulder, let me just write for me.' I found that experience to be my favorite part. When it came to the editing process and going back and looking at everything," she said. ## "I did a year-long writing course. I did write it myself, and loved it, but realized I didn't know anything about writing. Have you heard of the [Dunning–Kruger effect], where you start something, and you've never done it in your life, 'I am awesome at this, I'm so good, I'm the best, I'm a prodigy, I'm a natural.' That's how I felt about writing. Then, I did this writing course because I wanted to be good at it, and I found out how little I knew about writing, and it's very intimidating. It was a round circle program with other people reading your work and giving feedback, and it was very helpful. You find out what's working and what isn't working, but you also find out how much you don't know and you're learning. ## I love that process too because I love trying to improve on something, especially when I get passionate about something and I want to be good at it. I really love writing. It's something I've done my whole life. My dad had me writing in journals since as long as I could write. I've always found that to be almost meditative. Writing a book was a great process. I'm in the editing process, the late editing process. I had some problems with editors, some people leaving the company. Detroit, 3 August 2023 - The WWE SummerSlam card is almost complete, with one match yet to be announced. The top matches confirmed are Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns facing Jey Uso in a Tribal Combat Match, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins taking on Finn Balor, and Brock Lesnar squaring off against Cody Rhodes. ## However, the much-anticipated match between WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez has not been officially announced yet. On Monday's episode of Raw, Adam Pearce informed Rodriguez that she will get a title shot against Ripley once she is medically cleared. ## Dave Meltzer mentioned on Wrestling Observer Radio that the match is still in the plans for the show, but the delay in announcing it is due to WWE waiting for Rhea's clearance. ## The delay in announcing some matches is also attributed to WWE's time constraints for the event. With a likely time limit of 3 1/2 to 4 hours, the company doesn't want to rush through matches and wants to give each bout sufficient time. So, they are keeping the possibility open and may add the Ripley vs. Rodriguez match if Rhea gets medically cleared in time for the event. ## “We still don’t know the situation with Rhea and Raquel. No [the match is not off], as soon as they clear her. They could clear her the day of the show and throw it in there. There is a time constraint. I was told that part of the reason why some of these matches that were originally earmarked for the show are off is that they have a time limit on the show, which I’m gonna guess is 3 1/2 to 4 hours, and they didn’t want to short-change matches. I don’t know when it will be. They left it open. If she gets cleared, in storyline obviously, storyline cleared they can do the surprise match the day of the show."
