Golmaal 5 Update: Akshay Kumar Joins Ajay Devgn-fronted Comedy Entertainer As Antagonist
Mumbai, February 2 - In what could be one of the biggest casting coups, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has reportedly joined director Rohit Shetty's Golmaal 5, headed by Ajay Devgn. Interestingly, the actor has been cast to play the lead antagonist, according to Variety India's report. Golmaal is one of the biggest Bollywood franchises, and it is said that the upcoming film delves into fantasy elements, offering a fresh narrative and expanding beyond the usual prank-driven situational humour of its predecessors. Akshay has been cast as the lead antagonist against Ajay Devgn and his ragtag ensemble of misfits. The rest of the original cast, including Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, and Sharman Joshi, are set to return, with Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari and Ashwini Kalsekar. The shoot of this Rohit Shetty directorial is expected to begin by the end of this month in Film City, Mumbai, as the makers are eyeing a theatrical release in early 2027. It will be Akshay's second back-to-back antagonist role after the upcoming action thriller Haiwaan. Stay tuned...
