Mumbai, April 30 - After the big success of Raid (2018), Bollywood star Ajay Devgn and director Raj Kumar Gupta have reunited for its sequel, which hits the big screen on May 1st. The movie has been censored with a U/A certificate with an approved runtime of 2 hours and 30 minutes, and is carrying positive buzz. ## Lately, the franchise-based films are doing wonders at the box office, and it seems, Raid 2 is set to be the next in the list. The advance booking of the movie was opened a couple of days ago, and the response has been pleasant, with one of the best for a Bollywood movie of the year. ## As of 8 PM on April 30, Raid 2 has sold around 160K tickets worth approximately 4.35 crores gross for the opening day. Ajay Devgn's 'Raid 2' Officially Postponed; To Now Release Early 2025

Mumbai, August 7 - The sequel to Ajay Devgn-fronted crime thriller Raid has officially been postponed from November 15 of this year due to a tight release schedule. The movie is directed by Raj Kumar Gupta who confirmed the development.## Raid 2 was well on track until recently when Ajay Devgn-fronted highly-anticipated cop action drama Singham Again was pushed to Diwali 2024, two weeks before Raid 2's original release. It then became almost impossible to release two films of the actor with a tiny gap of just 2 weeks.## Director Rajkumar Gupta confirmed to Bollywood Hungama that the blockbuster will now be released early next year but the exact date is not yet revealed. The filmmaker said that producers will announce the official release date soon.## Raid 2 stars Ajay Devgn who reprises his role as an IRS officer, Amay Patnaik. In the first movie, Saurabh Shukla played the role of the antagonist but in the sequel, Riteish Deshmukh has replaced him to take on Ajay Devgn.
