Hyderabad, February 11 - The Film Federation of India (FFI) left everyone stunned when it picked the Gujarati movie "The Chhello Show" (Last Film Show) as India's official entry for Oscars 2023, over SS Rajamouli's "RRR" which has been winning accolades internationally and getting wide recognition. ## "Last Film Show" though did receive critical acclaim but failed to score nominations in the Best International Feature Film category which further widened the criticism for FFI for not picking "RRR". Meanwhile, Ram Charan, who plays the role of Ramaraju in the film, finally reacts to the decision. ## During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ram Charan said that he was not entirely surprised by the decision but was a little disappointed that the movie was not picked.## "I really don't understand the process of selection. Prior to this, I had no knowledge of how it's done, so I don't know if I can really comment on it. Whoever did the selection, I'm sure they (FFI) have been in the process for many years, and I'm sure [Last Film Show] is a great film. I haven't gotten the chance to see it yet, but nevertheless, I hope this is a great beginning for us", the actor said. ## "We are so happy with the reception from the West, the East, and India, and all these nominations and awards are definitely great. They're feathers in our cap, and I hope we have even better things to look forward to in the future", Charan added.## "RRR", meanwhile, scored a nomination in the Best Original Song category for "Naatu Naatu" which became India's first-ever Oscars nod in the category. Hyderabad, April 9 - The Indian cinema needed SS Rajamouli (again) to give it the first 1000 crores worldwide grosser since his all-time blockbuster "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion". "RRR", a period action drama film full of cinematic brilliance, has become the 3rd Indian movie to go past the 10 Billion mark at the worldwide box office. ## Starring two of Telugu cinema's biggest superstars, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan alongside the cameos from Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt, "RRR", unlike "Baahubali 2" and "Dangal", reached the landmark box office figure during the covid-19 pandemic and it took just 16 days to get there. This makes this film stand apart from the rest of the other two titles. ## Apart from topping 1000 crores worldwide gross, "RRR" has crossed the 800 crores gross mark at the domestic box office, becoming only the second film after "Baahubali 2" to reach there. "RRR" has also become the first-ever movie to score 400 crores net in Telugu. BB2 is the second biggest Telugu movie with 338 crores net.## Meanwhile, in another record-breaking performance, "RRR" has crossed 100 crores gross at the USA box office. It is again only the second Indian movie to top the 100 crores mark there, after "Baahuabli 2", which had grossed 136 crores in 2017. Aamir Khan's "Dangal" is at number 3 with approx. 81 crores. ## Since its release on March 25, "RRR" has been the number 1 film at the worldwide box office. It is the longest ever for an Indian movie to be at number 1 worldwide. Mumbai, October 29 - Ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli and the largest multiplex chain of India, PVR Cinemas has collaborated for a first-of-its-kind association for the upcoming magnum opus, RRR. As per the collaboration, PVR has decided to alter its brand identity and logo to the movie name RRR. Starting today, PVR will now be referred to as 'PVRRR'. ## Announcing the same, RRR director SS Rajamouli and Ajay Bijli – Chairman & Managing Director PVR Ltd have unveiled the new 'PVRRR' logo in front of the gathered media. Hyderabad, August 1, 2021: As promised, the makers of the upcoming period action film, RRR, have released the first song on the occasion of Friendship Day (1 August) from this Pan-India film. The song highlights the camaraderie between the lead actors, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan. ## As revealed earlier, the friendship song brought India's finest singers together to give their vocals to this amazing song in their respective languages. Amit Trivedi has sung the Hindi version (Dosti) of the song while the lyrics have been panned by Riya Mukherjee.
