Mumbai, October 29 - After the mega blockbuster success of Gadar 2, his fortune turned highly in his favour, and now, he is among the busiest actors in the industry. The mega star has multiple films in the pipeline, including the soon-to-be-released Border 2. Meanwhile, apart from Border 2, Sunny Deol also has a Jaat sequel in the works. Released earlier this year, the Gopichand Mallineni directorial became a box office success and found love among the masses. The makers confirmed Jaat 2, and, as per reports, the movie is officially in work. According to Pinkvilla, Gopichand Mallineni is unlikely to direct the sequel as he is busy with other commitments. Instead, the makers are reportedly in talks with veteran Bollywood director Rajkumar Santoshi to helm the upcoming film. As per reports, the veteran filmmaker has been paid a whopping 15 crore fees to helm to sequel. "Yes, Rajkumar Santoshi has been in talks to direct Jaat 2. The team feels he is the perfect choice because no one understands Sunny Deol's audience connect better than him. His storytelling has the right balance of emotion, action, and mass appeal, exactly what Jaat 2 needs to elevate the franchise", says the report. Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi have previously worked together in the iconic films like Ghayal (1990), Damini (1993), and Ghatak (1996), and the actor won National Awards for the first two films in the Best Actor and Supporting Actor categories. The iconic duo reunited after 27 years for Lahore 1947, which is scheduled to release next year. If all goes well, Jaat will begin in the second half of 2026.
