The Odisha state is the eighth largest state by area and the eleventh largest state by population in India. ## The Chief Minister of Odisha is the chief executive of the Indian state of Odisha which is appointed by a state's governor. The Chief Minister is the leader of the state Legislative assembly. They would be the chief adviser to the nominal head of their respected state. All new principal announcements of policy are made by him on the floor of the house. The Chief Minister supervises and co­ordinates the policies of the several Ministers involved in the formulation and implementation of a policy and department. For the removal of ministers, the governor depends on the Chief Minister because the governor can’t remove/dismiss ministers at his will. The Chief Minister has a free hand in preparing the list of his colleagues and also he may ask anyone of his colleagues to resign. ## Odisha has one chamber and house. Odisha legislative assembly has 147 seats. Odisha state sends 21 members to the Lok Sabha and 10 members to the Rajya Sabha. Chief ministers guide and control the activity of other ministers.
