Mumbai, July 13 - Adivi Sesh's biographical action drama film Major scored 8 million viewing hours on Netflix in its first full week in Hindi and Telugu languages. The movie was made available on the streamer on July 3 in all three release languages, Hindi, Telugu, and Malayalam. ## The Hindi version of the movie was the most-watched Indian title and second-most overall non-English movie globally on Netflix in the week of July 4 - July 10. It scored 5.99 million viewing hours while the Telugu version, which landed at number 8, grabbed 2 million hours of watch time in the movie's first full week on Netflix. ## Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, "Major" was released theatrically on June 3rd in the original Hindi and Telugu along with dubbed Malayalam versions. The film follows the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, an army officer who was martyred in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. It also stars Prakash Raj, Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar, Revathi, Murali Sharma and Anish Kuruvilla. From its theatrical run, the movie grossed approx. 60 crores worldwide and declared as a box office super hit. ## SS Rajamouli's never-ending obsession RRR Hindi version continued to remain one of the choices on Netflix, especially among overseas audiences. The period action drama film scored 2.85 million viewing hours and remained in the top 10 most-watched non-English films worldwide for the 8th consecutive week on Netflix. ## Hindi movie, Operation Romeo, produced by Neeraj Pandey, opened at number 9 with 1.94 million viewing hours on the streamer. Created by the Duffer Brothers, season 4 of the series was released in two parts with the first part of 7 episodes debuting on May 27 while volume 2 with the remaining two episodes on July 1 this year. ## The 4th season of "Stranger Things" has not only been a big hit but also created new streaming records. Mumbai, July 6 - Duffer Brothers, the creators of Netflix's global smash hit Stranger Things have formed Upside Down Pictures and signed a deal with Netflix for several new projects. ## Duffer Brothers are already committed to developing the final season of "Stranger Things" for which, they will start writing in September this year with shooting taking place next year for the 2024 premiere. The final season of Netflix's most-watched show will see the epic good vs evil battle between Eleven and Vecna. ## Meanwhile, Matt and Ross Duffer have unveiled plans for a spinoff series of their blockbuster hit for the streamer. The project, details of which are being kept under wraps for now, is but one of five projects the siblings have unveiled as part of their nine-figure overall deal for Netflix. ## The live-action Stranger Things spinoff is based on an original idea by Duffer Brothers. Upside Down will produce the series alongside Shawn Levy's 21 Laps. The Anubhav Sinha-directed film was made available on Netflix on June 26 after a disappointing box office run. ## "Anek" scored 4.9 million hours watched in the week (June 27 - July 3), and was the second most-watched non-English film worldwide. It was also trending in the top 10 in 14 countries, including number 1 in India and Bangladesh. ## Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 continued to remain in the top 10 most-watched non-English films worldwide for the 3rd consecutive week. It scored 3.69 million viewing hours last week and was the second most-watched Indian title and 3rd overall on Netflix. BB2 has overall scored 20.1 million watched hours in 17 days. ## On the other hand, SS Rajamouli's epic box office blockbuster is still grabbing attention on the streamer and remained in the top 10 for the 7th consecutive week. Mumbai, July 6 - Netflix has its second billion hours watched show as Stranger Things 4 has surpassed this rare milestone after the final two episodes.## The final two episodes dropped on July 1st as a part of Volume 2 of "Stranger Things 4" helped the show to pull in another 301.2 million viewing hours last week, including approx. 220 million watched hours of episodes 8 & 9. The total watched hours of this sci-fi horror drama series has now reached 1.15 billion. ## "Stranger Things 4" is the most-watched only show on Netflix and the second most for any language. It is also only the second show ever to cross 1 billion viewing hours on Netflix, after Korean global hit "Squid Game", which clocked 1.6 billion watched hours in its first 28 days. ## The Duffer Brothers-created series was the most-watched show for the week (June 27 - July 3) and it is only expected to rise over the next three and a half weeks. However, "Squid Game's" record is looking like a far cry as "Stranger Things 4" is unlikely to reach that target. ## The season finale of ST4 is one of the most intense episodes yet of the series. It ended on an emotional note, leaving enough scope for the final season of the series to go bang bang. Duffer Brothers recently revealed in an interview that they will start writing the final season in September this year. Season 4 of this science fiction horror drama series has already become the most-watched English series on Netflix with over 930 million viewing hours. ## According to Nielsen, "Stranger Things" scored 7.2 billion viewing minutes for the week of May 30-June 5, which is the highest weekly total for any streaming title since the advent of weekly rankings almost two years ago. ## Nielsen counts all episodes of a series in totaling its streaming rankings, but it is certain that the majority of the 7.2 billion minutes of "Stranger Things" came from the seven episodes of season four released on May 27. ## "Stranger Things" series also has the biggest two-week tally for any streaming show with 12.34 billion viewing minutes. It was watched for 5.14 billion (including more than 75% from S4) minutes in the week of May 23 - May 29.
