Mumbai, September 26 - The Dussehra 2025 box office clash between South biggie Kantara Chapter 1 and the much-awaited Bollywood romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari seems to be taking an ugly turn after the makers demand exclusive excessive showcasing for the Kantara prequel. With less than a week to go before the release, the makers of both films are leaving no stone unturned to make their films reach the maximum audience, and in between, a dispute over showcasing has started making headlines. According to the report by Bollywood Hungama, AA Films, the distributors of Kanatar 2, have sent an email to the exhibitors regarding their requirement for the shows. It is said that "they have demanded that all shows in single-screen and 12 shows in two-screen cinemas. The latter also amounts to all shows; they mention the same clearly in the mail to avoid any confusion. Shockingly, they have also asked for 18 shows in three-screen multiplexes, which, in other words, also amounts to every show." The Kantara makers are very well aware that Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor's Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumar is releasing on the same day, yet they have asked for such a showcase in the Hindi belt, which is not just unreasonable, but also laughable. An exhibitor, on condition of anonymity, told Bollywood Hungama, "I don't agree with this unreasonable demand. We understand that Kantara is a highly anticipated film. But then, even Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari also looks like a fun entertainer, which will attract family audiences and youth. Hence, I'd like to play that film as well." The report further states that AA Films has demanded 100% shows in IMAX properties, along with a higher percentage of shows in theatres with 4-screens and beyond. Mumbai, September 26 - Warner Bros. Pictures' supernatural horror thriller film The Conjuring: Last Rites has topped 100 crores gross collection at the Indian box office, becoming the fourth Hollywood movie of the year to hit the milestone. Starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, The Last Rites achieved the milestone at the end of its third week. It has become the first non-India horror thriller title to reach 100 crores gross in India. The positive word of mouth and strong franchise value have proved to be a massive advantage for the film to conquer the box office. As said, The Conjuring Last Rites, directed by Michael Chaves, is the 4th Hollywood movie of 2025 to reach the milestone of 100 crores gross in the country. Earlier, Jurassic World Rebirth (123 crores), Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (123.50 crores) and F1 Movie (127.50 crores) topped the milestone. Mumbai, September 26 - Power star Pawan Kalyan has unleashed a box office storm with his gangster action drama They Call Him OG. The film has opened to record-breaking numbers domestically, registering the biggest opening of 2025, surpassing superstar Rajinikanth's Coolie, which belongs to a similar action-packed genre. Directed by Sujeeth, They Call Him OG scored an estimated 100 crore gross on its opening day at the Indian box office, including around 25 crore from premiere shows alone. This stellar start has eclipsed Coolie, which debuted with approximately 77 crore gross just last month. In terms of records, OG now holds the seventh-biggest opening ever for a Telugu film and the eighth-biggest for an Indian movie in the domestic market. In the Telugu states, the film has registered the third-highest opening day, trailing only behind RRR, starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, and Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule. Meanwhile, at the worldwide box office, OG has grossed around 140 crores, which is in the same range as Jr. NTR's Devara (142 crores) and Thalapathy Vijay's Leo (142.90 crores), featuring among the top 10 biggest Indian openers globally. It has beaten Prabhas' Saaho (130 crores). With this phenomenal start, OG is set to become Pawan Kalyan's highest-grossing film ever as early as its second day, surpassing Bheemla Nayak (158.50 crore lifetime). Mumbai, September 26 - Bollywood's heartthrob Kartik Aaryan is all set to reunite with director Luv Ranjan. After delivering cult favourites like Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Akaash Vani, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, and the blockbuster Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, the actor-director duo is back with their fifth collab, and first since Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, which turned into a big box office hit in 2018. According to Pinkvilla, Kartik and Luv Ranjan are coming together for an outright entertainer. The duo has been on the lookout for the right script for their reunion, and there's finally a script that warrants the union of this duo, responsible for as many as three pathbreaking entertainers. The movie is currently in pre-production and will start rolling next year. While the project has created excitement, several details are still under wraps. There have been rumours that the duo would team up for the sequel to Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, but there is no such development taking place at the moment. Bengaluru, September 25 - After scoring an unexpected big box office success with Kantara in 2022, Hombale Films announced Kantara 2, which is the prequel to the first film. Directed and headlined by Rishab Shetty, it has been one of the most anticipated Indian films with stakes higher than before. After going through an intense production process, the movie is finally ready to release on October 2, 2025, in multiple languages. With just a week to go before release, Hombale Films has confirmed that the advance booking of the Kantara prequel will open on September 26 in its home turf, Karnataka. The all-India booking of the film is expected to open on September 28 or 29, including the Hindi version.
