Ajay Devgn's 'Rudra: The Edge of Darkness' Viewership Data Revealed
Mumbai, March 7 - Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn marked his digital debut with the Disney Plus Hotstar series, "Rudra: The Edge of Darkness". The psychological crime thriller series, which is a remake of the British series "Luther" starring Idris Elba, was released on March 4. ## Upon the release of the show, it received mixed to a positive response from critics and audiences alike. It was, as expected, remained the most-watched Indian show on OTT during its opening weekend. As per Ormax Media, "Rudra: The Edge of Darkness", got 8.6 million views in the first 3 days (March 4-6). Makers claimed it is the highest viewership count on Disney+Hotstar during the opening weekend. ## The 6-episode series also stars Raashi Khanna and Esha Deol in prominent roles. Set in Mumbai, the show is a race-against-the-clock thriller that delves into the psyche of highly intelligent criminals and the detective who hunts them. ## Each episode in the series features a new threat even as the overarching series arc continues, portraying the grave personal cost at which DCP Rudra Veer Singh pursues criminals and killers and the unlikely friendship that he forms with Dr. Aliyah Choksi, a genius sociopath. ## The show is directed by the National Award-Winning director, Rajesh Mapuskar. Applause Entertainment has produced the series in association with BBC Studios India.
