Samar Anand (Shah Rukh Khan) is an Indian immigrant working odd jobs to make ends meet rich girl Meera Thapar (Katrina Kaif). She falls in love with him despite already being engaged.## But Meera, who is oddly superstitious then voluntarily, abandons Samar after he meets with an accident because she promises to not meet him if his life is spared. Samar goes back to India and joins the army. His father and grandfather also served in the army but his mother wanted him never to join the army. He becomes an ace bomb diffuser who’s so badass that he doesn’t wear a bomb suit while diffusing bombs.## Enter an aspiring documentary maker, Akira (Anushka Sharma), who wants to film Samar on his job and a bond develops between a carefree Akira and the stoic Major Anand.
