Record Pre-Release Theatrical Business of 'The GOAT' For Thalapathy Vijay In Telugu States

Hyderabad, September 3 - The much-awaited Tamil action thriller The Greatest of All Time has scored the record pre-release theatrical business for Thalapathy Vijay in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). ## Vijay's popularity has been soaring across the country, especially among the Telugu audience with each passing film which has been reflected in the theatrical business. According to the Telugu trade portals, Mythri Movie Makers has acquired the theatrical rights of the movie in AP/TG. ## The film's AP/TG theatrical business has been valued at 21 crores, including 12 crores for the Andhra region. This is the highest pre-release business for Thalapathy Vijay in Telugu states, beating the previous record of Leo (16 crores). ## The GOAT will need to score around 35 crores in gross collection to break even in AP/TG. Vijay's last film, Leo was a huge success in the Telugu market, grossing around 50 crores. 'Kanguva' Scores Record Post-Theatrical Streaming Deal For Suriya

Chennai, September 3 - One of the most-anticipated Pan Indian movies Kanguva has scored the record post-theatrical streaming deal for actor Suriya. The movie is directed by Siva and also stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in prominent roles. ## According to Forum Reelz, Amazon Prime Video has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights of Kanguva for all languages. Complete Main Cast of Superstar Rajinikanth-Fronted 'Coolie' Announced

Chennai, September 2 - Blockbuster director Lokesh Kanagaraj teamed up with superstar Rajinikanth for the first time for an action drama film, titled Coolie. The movie, produced by Sun Pictures, is shaping up to be one of the most-anticipated movies of 2025. ## Over the last few days, the makers have been introducing the main cast of the film with the first-look character posters. On August 28, Malayalam actor Soubin Shahir was introduced as Dayal to play one of the important roles, before the announcement of veteran Telugu star Nagarjuna as Simon on the next day. ## Shruti Haasan as Preethi was announced to play the female lead on August 30 while Sathyaraj as Rajasekar was announced to play a prominent role the next day. 'Indian 2' Makers Lend In Legal Trouble Over The Film's OTT Release

Chennai, August 29 - Legendary Kamal Haasan and director Shankar reunited for the sequel to their 1997 Indian and released it on the big screen in July this year after years of production delays. Indian 2, produced by Lyca Production, however, failed to create any magic at the box office and ended up as a disaster.## After the no-show at the box office, Indian 2 premiered on the digital platform on August 12, 4 weeks after the theatrical release. Shockingly, the Hindi version of the movie also started streaming in less than 6 weeks after its release and this has put the makers in legal trouble. ## According to the report in Pinkvilla, the Multiplex Association of India has sent a legal notice to the team of Indian 2 for flouting the OTT rules. It is known to everyone that films released in Hindi will have to follow a strict 8-week OTT window, and the ones who don't obey the guidelines, won't get a release in the top 3 national multiplex chains – PVRInox and Cinepolis. ## The report suggests that the makers of Indian 2 had agreed to the guidelines to release the Hindi version, Hindustani 2 in multiplexes, which means, the dubbed version was supposed to be available on OTT on September 6 but MAI was shocked to know that it is already available on Netflix, much before the set window.## The Multiplex Association wants to give a stern message to all the producers to follow the 8-week window and in this process, the organization has sent a legal notice to the Indian 2 team. Chennai, August 8 - As the anticipation is shooting up for Thalapathy Vijay's sci-fi action thriller The Greatest of All-Time, the makers have confirmed its release in IMAX in India and international markets.## Directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT is the second back-to-back movie of Vijay to secure an IMAX debut. Zee Studios To Release Thalapathy Vijay's 'GOAT' In North India

Mumbai, August 8 - Thalapathy Vijay's highly-anticipated sci-fi action thriller The Greatest of All-Time will be released by Zee Studios in North India. The movie is directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Entertainment.## Zee Studio, one of the leading production and distribution studios in the country, announced on Thursday that it would release GOAT across North Indian states in all languages, including Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Chennai, August 7 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has emerged as the third most-watched Indian movie of 2024 on Netflix. The Nithilan Swaminathan's directorial was originally released in theatres and emerged as a big box office blockbuster by grossing over 100 crores worldwide.## Maharaja debuted on Netflix on July 12, four weeks after the blockbuster theatrical release. It scored 3.20 million views in the opening weekend on Netflix, followed by a huge 6.10 million views in the second week (July 15-21), and another 3.60 million views during the week of July 22-28. ## In the fourth week (July 29 - August 4), the movie generated 2.60 million views, pushing its total viewership to 15.50 million views in 24 days. Chennai, August 4 - Tamil action thriller Raayan has become the highest-grossing film for the actor Dhanush after the excellent second weekend at the worldwide box office in which it also became the actor's third 100 crores grosser.## Directed by Dhanush, Raayan has beaten the entire run of Thiruchitrambalam (117 crores worldwide gross) on its second Sunday in just 10 days. The movie is looking to score around 10 crores worldwide on Sunday, which will take its total collection to around 123 crores gross. ## Interestingly, Thiruchitrambalam became actor Dhanush's first 100 crores grosser in 2022, followed by Vaathi which grossed approximately 116 crores in 2023.
