Superstar Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 Reportedly Locks Biggest Post-Theatrical OTT Deal For Tamil Cinema With Amazon Prime Video

BY SACNILK

Chennai, August 13 - Superstar Rajinikanth's much-awaited Jailer 2 has reportedly achieved a massive milestone even before its theatrical release, with the film reportedly locked in the biggest post-theatrical OTT deal in Tamil cinema. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial, one of the most anticipated Tamil films, has reportedly been acquired by Amazon Prime Video for a staggering 160 crore. If the reported figure is accurate, the Rajinikanth starrer has established a new record for a Tamil film's post-theatrical streaming rights, underlining the enormous value attached to the superstar and the Jailer franchise. Amazon Prime Video is also not new to the franchise, having acquired the digital rights to the first Jailer, which became a major blockbuster following its theatrical release in 2023. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The sequel is expected to take the franchise on a much bigger scale, with Rajinikanth returning as Muthuvel Pandian and Nelson once again handling the direction. The reported OTT deal comes at a crucial stage for Jailer 2, which has already completed its shoot, with the makers already conforming October 15 release date. Produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 also stars Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, and Rithvik, reprising their roles from the predecessor, with S. J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Anna Rajan and Jatin Sarna joining the cast in key roles, while Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan plays a crucial cameo.

Jana Nayagan Day 20: Grosses 0.74 Crore as it Overtakes Amaran Tamil Net to Settle as 10th Highest-Grossing Film of All Time

BY SACNILK

As Jana Nayagan enters its third week, the box office numbers have finally dipped below the 1 crore mark, signaling that the theatrical run is now moving into its final stretch. On its twentieth day, the film grossed 0.74 crore rupees in India, which is a 13.3 percent drop from the previous day's collection of roughly 0.85 crore rupees. While these daily figures are now relatively modest, the fact that the movie has traveled this far is a direct result of the immense fandom surrounding Vijay. Despite the significant challenge of a digital leak that usually cripples a film's longevity, the sheer star power of the lead actor has pushed the domestic gross to 225.63 crore rupees and the net total to 193.70 crore rupees so far. It is a clear case of fan loyalty sustaining a film's presence in theaters even when the momentum naturally begins to fade. The film performance on a global scale remains equally impressive. By adding a steady overseas gross of 93.20 crore rupees to its domestic earnings, Jana Nayagan has pushed its worldwide total gross to 318.83 crore rupees. This surge has allowed the film to surpass the lifetime collections of Karuppu, officially entering the list of the top ten highest-grossing Tamil movies of all time. This achievement is particularly notable for the lead actor, who now has three films in this prestigious all-time top ten list: Leo, GOAT, and now Jana Nayagan. He now shares this elite record with the legendary Rajinikanth, who also has three films—Coolie, Jailer, and 2.0—in the same bracket. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Looking at the ticketing data from BookMyShow, the film has shown incredible volume throughout its run. Starting with massive pre-sales of 1.18 million tickets, the momentum has carried through to its third week. The platform recorded 8,780 tickets on Monday and 6,820 tickets on Tuesday, bringing the total cumulative ticket sales on BookMyShow to a staggering 4,362,460. The performance at national chains including PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis remained stable for a twentieth day. Combined, these major chains sold approximately 3,000 tickets today, resulting in a gross collection of nearly 4 lakh rupees. Specifically, PVR led the group with roughly 1,800 tickets sold and a gross of around 2.3 lakh rupees at 13.34 percent occupancy. INOX followed with about 1,000 tickets and a gross of 1.2 lakh rupees at 14.11 percent occupancy, while Cinepolis contributed approximately 200 tickets. These figures, while small compared to the opening week, demonstrate that the film is still finding an audience in premium urban multiplexes. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) In terms of regional performance on Day 20, the Tamil version maintained an overall occupancy of 15.46 percent. The interest was distributed fairly evenly throughout the day, starting with 11.08 percent in the morning and peaking at 15.46 percent in the afternoon, followed by 14.15 percent during the night shows. Chennai remains the strongest fortress for the film, recording 22.3 percent occupancy across 183 shows. Other major regions also contributed steadily, with Bengaluru seeing 19.3 percent occupancy for 42 shows, while Coimbatore and Madurai recorded 12.5 percent and 12 percent occupancy respectively. In Hindi-speaking markets, the film held 748 shows with an occupancy of 9 percent. The state-wise gross reports for Tuesday show that Tamil Nadu remains the primary driver, contributing 0.60 crore rupees to the daily gross. Karnataka followed with 0.03 crore rupees, while Kerala added 0.01 crore rupees and the rest of India accounted for 0.10 crore rupees. When analyzing the language-wise net totals, the Tamil version has amassed 167.78 crore rupees so far, bringing it within striking distance of the Tamil net collection of Amaran, which stands at 167.90 crore rupees. While Jana Nayagan surpassed Tamil net milestone , the story is very different when we look at the overall India gross. Jana Nayagan currently stands at 225.63 crore rupees, leaving a massive gap of roughly 28 crore rupees to reach the 253.67 crore rupees India gross benchmark set by Amaran. Since daily collections have now slid to 0.74 crore rupees on Day 20, the trajectory needed to bridge such a wide margin is simply not there. As the film enters its late theatrical phase, it is set to settle as the tenth highest-grossing Tamil film of all time, a position that remains a monumental feat for a third-week runner.

Wamiqa Gabbi Joins Rishab Shetty in Prasanth Varma's Jai Hanuman Following a String of 2026 Successes

BY SACNILK

Wamiqa Gabbi is reportedly joining the cast of the upcoming pan-India mythological epic Jai Hanuman. According to an exclusive report by Bollywood Hungama, the actress has been signed for a powerful role in the film, which is directed by Prasanth Varma and stars Rishab Shetty in the lead. While her specific character details are still being kept confidential, she is expected to start filming soon for the project in Hyderabad. This casting comes during a very successful year for Wamiqa. She started 2026 with the box-office success of Bhooth Bangla and followed it up with the comedy Pati, Patni Aur Woh Do. More recently, she has been receiving positive reviews for her performance as Chandra in the Tamil film DC: The Bloody Valentine. Joining a project of the scale of Jai Hanuman marks another significant step in her career as she enters an immersive world of mythology and high-octane action. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Jai Hanuman serves as the direct sequel to the 2024 surprise hit Hanu-Man, which featured Teja Sajja. In this new installment, Rishab Shetty takes over the lead role, portraying Lord Hanuman. The film is envisioned as a large-scale epic set in the modern era of Kaliyug, focusing on themes of devotion, loyalty, and strength. It aims to present Hanuman as an immortal figure, blending traditional lore with the sensibilities of a superhero franchise. The project is a key part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, or PVCU. This ambitious superhero franchise draws heavy inspiration from the tapestry of Indian history and mythology. Aside from Jai Hanuman, Varma is also developing other films under this banner, including Mahakali, which focuses on Goddess Kali, and Adhira, inspired by Lord Indra. The goal of the PVCU is to create an interconnected world of legendary characters adapted for a contemporary cinematic audience. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and presented by T-Series, the film has been in production since March. The shooting is reportedly moving at a steady pace, and the makers are targeting a massive theatrical release in the second half of 2027. This timeline suggests that the project will involve extensive post-production and visual effects to match the high standards set by the previous film in the universe. Beyond her role in Jai Hanuman, Wamiqa has an extensive lineup of releases. She will next be seen in the film Prahaar alongside Rajkummar Rao this September, followed by the action thriller Goodachari 2 with Adivi Sesh later this year. Her upcoming projects also include the comedy Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling, the film Genie, and Dharma Productions’ Kuku Ki Kundali, where she stars alongside Bhuvan Bam.

Jana Nayagan has completed its second week at the box office, and the numbers tell a story of a strong regional performance coupled with significant challenges in the overseas market. As of the end of its fifteenth day, the film has achieved a worldwide gross collection of ₹308.67 Cr. The domestic market has been the primary driver, contributing an India gross of ₹215.87 Cr, while the overseas markets added ₹92.80 Cr to the tally. In terms of net earnings, the film has managed to pocket ₹185.15 Cr across a total of 114,846 shows tracked so far. The second week displayed a characteristic fluctuation in gross collections. Following a quieter second Friday with ₹4.12 Cr, the film saw a significant surge on Saturday, bringing in ₹9.05 Cr. This upward trend peaked on the second Sunday, which recorded a strong gross of ₹12.42 Cr. However, the typical weekday trend followed, with the second Monday seeing a drop to ₹4.43 Cr gross. By its fifteenth day, the daily gross settled at ₹1.84 Cr. Despite these mid-week variations, the film successfully crossed the ₹300 Cr worldwide gross milestone on its twelfth day, indicating a steady interest in the domestic market. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Jana Nayagan Week 2 State-wise Gross Totals: • Tamil Nadu: ₹ 29.58 Cr • Karnataka: ₹ 2.02 Cr • Rest of India: ₹ 2.84 Cr • Kerala: ₹ 1.66 Cr • APTG: ₹ 0.44 Cr Looking at the cumulative totals, Tamil Nadu remains the standout performer with a total gross of ₹134.83 Cr, followed by Karnataka at ₹29.67 Cr. The Tamil 2D version saw a substantial volume of viewers, recording 1,976,779 tracked footfalls. When we look at the numbers without block seats, the figure stands at 1,308,542, indicating a high level of genuine individual interest even in its second week. In comparison, the Hindi 2D version had a much lighter footprint with 199,268 total footfalls and 127,024 without block seats. This disparity confirms that while the film has a loyal following in the North, the heavy lifting is being done by the Tamil-speaking audience. A closer look at the regional and language breakdown reveals that Tamil Nadu remains the absolute stronghold for the film. In the second week alone, the Tamil version contributed a gross of ₹33.21 Cr. In contrast, the Hindi and Telugu versions had a much smaller footprint, with Hindi grossing ₹2.98 Cr and Telugu managing just ₹0.35 Cr during the same period. State-wise data confirms this trend, with Tamil Nadu providing a massive ₹134.83 Cr of the total India gross, followed by Karnataka at ₹29.67 Cr and the Rest of India at ₹21.89 Cr. In terms of audience engagement, BookMyShow data shows that Jana Nayagan has sold approximately 4.20 million tickets by the end of its second week. This impressive performance secures the film the fifth spot on the list of all-time highest ticket sales on the platform (trailing behind Jailer [8.13M], Leo [6.89M], Coolie [5.95M], and The Goat [4.23M]). The interest was particularly high during the second weekend, which saw a total of 446,580 tickets sold between Friday and Sunday, with the peak coming on Saturday with 180,670 bookings. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The performance in national multiplex chains like PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis also remained steady, with more than 125,000 tickets sold across these chains throughout the week. On its fifteenth day, the movie recorded approximately 6,650 tickets sold in these chains, which translates to a gross of 8.75 Lakhs. Despite a higher show count for other major releases, Jana Nayagan maintained a healthy occupancy rate of about 9 percent across 300+ shows, showing that the core audience in regional markets is still turning up as the film enters its third week. While the domestic numbers are respectable, the overseas performance has been a different story. According to reporting from Venky Box Office, the film is heading for a disaster status in the North American market. The total gross in that region stands at just $1.56M, with a very low Tuesday collection of $8,000. For a film of this scale, the inability to crack the $2M mark in North America is a significant setback. Overall, the overseas gross has reached ₹92.80 Cr, showing that while the film has an audience abroad, it hasn't quite reached the heights expected of a top-tier South Indian production.

Jana Nayagan is holding its ground as it moves through the second week of its theatrical run. On Day 13, which was the second Tuesday, the film recorded an India gross collection of ₹2.39 Crore from 3,967 shows. This represents a 45.5 percent decline compared to the previous day gross earnings. While the numbers are naturally tapering off on weekdays, the cumulative performance remains impressive. To date, the total India gross collection has climbed to ₹211.74 Crore, showcasing the film ability to maintain interest across multiple regions even after two weeks. These domestic numbers contribute to a larger global success story that has been unfolding over the past few days. Thalapathy Vijay film has firmly established itself in the elite ₹300 Crore global gross club, marking the thirteenth time a Kollywood production has hit this milestone. It is notably the third film in the actor career to reach this level, following in the footsteps of Leo and GOAT. Additionally, the movie has reinforced his dominance in Tamil Nadu, serving as his ninth consecutive release to surpass the ₹100 Crore gross mark in his home state. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) A closer look at the state-wise gross performance for Day 13 shows that Tamil Nadu remains the primary engine, contributing ₹1.76 Crore. Other regions also added to the tally, with the Rest of India bringing in ₹0.30 Crore, while Karnataka and Kerala each contributed ₹0.15 Crore. The Andhra Pradesh and Telangana markets added ₹0.03 Crore. In terms of language performance, the Tamil version continues to be the strongest contributor, earning a net of ₹1.80 Crore on Tuesday with an occupancy of 21 percent across 2,338 shows. The Hindi version added ₹0.28 Crore from 1,512 shows at 11 percent occupancy, while the Telugu version contributed ₹0.02 Crore from 117 shows at 13 percent occupancy. Looking at the overall language-wise totals in India, the Tamil gross stands at ₹183.07 Crore, the Hindi gross at ₹18.44 Crore, and the Telugu gross at ₹10.24 Crore. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) National theater chains showed steady but lower activity on this second Tuesday. According to the data, PVR sold 2,500 tickets for a gross of ₹3.35 Lakhs across 170 shows. INOX followed with 1,250 tickets sold and a gross of ₹1.40 Lakhs from 90 shows. Cinepolis rounded out the group with 250 tickets and ₹30,000 in gross from 40 shows. In total, these national chains accounted for 4,000 tickets sold and a gross of approximately ₹5 Lakhs across 300 shows. Occupancy trends for the Tamil 2D version showed an overall daily average of 21.17 percent. The evening shows were the busiest, peaking at 27.31 percent. In key regions, Chennai led with 28.5 percent occupancy across 358 shows. Coimbatore recorded 21.8 percent occupancy from 145 shows, while Bengaluru and Madurai saw 15.5 percent and 14.5 percent occupancy respectively. For the Hindi 2D version, the National Capital Region was the highlight with 25.3 percent occupancy from 64 shows, while Ahmedabad and Surat recorded lower levels at 11 percent and 9.8 percent. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Digital interest remains significant, though the film missed the top five spots for second Tuesday ticket sales on BookMyShow, trailing behind titles like Jailer and Leo. On Tuesday, the platform recorded 32,420 tickets booked, compared to 54,340 on Monday. This brings the total ticket sales on BookMyShow to over 4.14 million. Overseas, the film continues to find an audience, adding ₹0.75 Crore on its thirteenth day. This brings the total overseas gross to ₹92.00 Crore. When combined with the Indian gross of ₹211.74 Crore, the worldwide gross collection now stands at ₹303.74 Crore. This marks a historic Triple Hat-trick for Thalapathy Vijay in Tamil Nadu, as Jana Nayagan is now his ninth consecutive film to cross the ₹100 Crore gross mark in the state.

Jana Nayagan Week 1 Box Office: Thalapathy Vijay Hits Rs. 260 Cr Globally as TN Gross Smashes 100 Cr Record

BY SACNILK

Thalapathy Vijay latest outing, Jana Nayagan, has wrapped up its first week with the kind of dominance that has become a trademark of his career. As the buzz around his final few films continues to grow, the expectations for this project were sky-high, leading to a massive release across 13,067 shows on its opening day. Over an extended eight-day first week, the film has successfully converted that initial hype into substantial numbers, officially posting a worldwide gross collection of ₹260.25 Cr. The global performance is backed by a solid domestic trends, where the film earned ₹153.48 Cr in net collections. The journey to this figure was marked by several milestones: it crossed the ₹50 Crore net mark on its first day itself, breached the ₹100 Crore net mark by the end of its first Sunday, and reached the ₹150 Crore net milestone on Day 8. While the Tamil version naturally led the charge with a net of ₹131.02 Cr, the Telugu and Hindi versions added ₹8.83 Cr and ₹13.63 Cr respectively, showing a decent footprint outside its primary market. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) In its home territory of Tamil Nadu, Jana Nayagan has achieved a significant historical feat. By grossing ₹102.00 Cr in the state within just one week, it has become the ninth film in Vijay career to cross the 100 Crore gross milestone in Tamil Nadu. This puts the film in an elite club alongside his previous blockbusters like Leo, The Greatest of All Time, Varisu, Bigil, Master, Sarkar, Mersal, and Beast. Beyond the home state, the film also saw strong support in Karnataka with ₹27.08 Cr and Kerala with ₹14.90 Cr gross. Analyzing the day-wise trend, the film started with a massive ₹42.70 Cr net on Thursday, followed by a 50.5 percent drop on Friday. However, the first weekend saw a strong rebound, with Sunday collections hitting ₹32.00 Cr net. The momentum was eventually challenged on Day 8 by the global release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The Marvel wave had a significant impact on national chains like PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, where the superhero film sold over 5.94 lakh tickets. This shift in audience attention led to Jana Nayagan show count being reduced to 5,496 and ticket sales in national chains dipping to around 11,114 for the day, resulting in a Day 8 net of ₹3.98 Cr. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The theater occupancy figures throughout the week highlight the strong initial pull and typical weekday stabilization. Day 1 opened with an overall Tamil occupancy of 68.31 percent, with Chennai leading at a near-capacity 97 percent. Bengaluru also showed strong interest with 54.3 percent occupancy on the first day. While weekday occupancy settled between 15 and 25 percent, Sunday saw a massive surge back to 69.04 percent. This high engagement is further evidenced by the footfall data, which recorded a total of 6,341,236 viewers, with the actual seated footfall standing at 4,150,481 for the week. On the international stage, the film grossed ₹81.00 Cr. According to data from Venky Box Office, the North American market saw a total gross of $1.48M, including a $34K Wednesday. Malaysia remains a primary stronghold with $2.06M, followed by the UK and Europe at $1.7M and the Middle East at $1.31M. Other significant contributors include Singapore at $755K and Australia at $503K. These numbers ensured that the film stayed ahead of the curve globally even as domestic competition increased. The overseas market has provided a significant cushion, with several key territories posting strong numbers over the first six days. Malaysia remains at the forefront of this international run, contributing $2.06M (approximately ₹17.20 Cr). The UK and Europe market follows closely with a collection of $1.7M (₹14.19 Cr), while the Middle East has added a solid $1.31M (₹10.94 Cr) to the global tally. In other regions, the film found steady footing with Singapore contributing $755K (₹6.30 Cr) and Australia adding $503K (₹4.20 Cr). Even smaller markets like Sri Lanka and other rest-of-world territories combined for $425K (₹3.55 Cr), with New Zealand adding a further $47K (₹0.39 Cr). These figures highlight the consistent global appeal that helps the film offset any weekday fluctuations in the domestic market. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) In terms of digital engagement, Jana Nayagan recorded 36.14 lakh tickets sold on BookMyShow by the end of its first week. This performance places it as the fourth-highest first-week ticket seller for a South Indian film, trailing only behind Jailer, Leo, and Coolie, and staying comfortably ahead of The GOAT. A significant portion of this volume came from national chains, which accounted for over 6.75 lakh tickets sold across the eight-day period. Jana Nayagan Day 6: Film narrowly misses the top 5 first six days record by 9.65 crore with a total net collection of 123.15 crore

BY SACNILK

Jana Nayagan brought in a gross collection of 9.25 crore across India on its first Tuesday. This represents a 24.9 percent drop compared to the previous day, which is a standard trend for a big-star vehicle after the initial rush. Considering the massive market expectations that come with the Thalapathy vibe, these numbers show the film is holding its ground in key territories. It is the typical behavior for a film of this scale, moving from the fan-driven frenzy of the opening days into a more stable weekday performance. The total India gross collection currently stands at 167.57 crore, which translates to a net total of 143.40 crore. Looking at international markets, early estimates suggest the film added 3.00 crore on Tuesday, taking the total overseas gross to 78.50 crore. Combining these figures, the worldwide gross collection is estimated to be around 246.07 crore at this stage. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Ticket sales on BookMyShow offer a clear look at the actual interest levels. From the pre-booking stage through Tuesday, the film has sold 34,17,830 tickets in total, with Tuesday alone contributing about 117,000 sales. This performance puts Jana Nayagan at number eight on the all-time list for first Tuesday ticket sales in Kollywood. It is currently tracking just behind films like The Greatest of All Time and Coolie, while staying ahead of Ayalaan and Bison. Although it hasn't matched the record-breaking numbers of Jailer or Leo, its presence in the top 10 is significant, especially since the movie has been leaked. Usually, early leaks can slow down weekday theater attendance, but these numbers show that fans are still choosing the big screen. Looking at the state-wise breakdown for Tuesday's 9.25 crore gross, the home market of Tamil Nadu led the charts with 5.50 crore. The Rest of India contributed a solid 1.50 crore, followed by Karnataka with 1.00 crore. Kerala added 0.70 crore, while the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions brought in 0.55 crore. This distribution shows that while the film is naturally strongest in Tamil Nadu, it has managed to maintain a presence across the southern states and beyond. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The theater occupancy figures provide more detail on how the film is being received across different languages and regions. The Tamil 2D version saw an overall occupancy of 25.73 percent. In major cities, Chennai led with 40 percent occupancy across 771 shows, followed by Coimbatore at 29.3 percent and Madurai at 24 percent. Meanwhile, the Hindi version recorded an overall occupancy of 17.81 percent, with night shows seeing the best turnout at 27.83 percent. The Telugu version maintained a similar level with 16.40 percent overall occupancy. In the major national cinema chains, which include PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, the film saw a total daily advance gross of approximately 52.9 lakh from 33,600 tickets sold. If we break this down, PVR contributed roughly 33.6 lakh from 20,900 tickets, INOX added 15.0 lakh from 10,000 tickets, and Cinepolis brought in 4.4 lakh from 2,600 tickets. These numbers highlight the film's steady performance in the larger urban multiplex circuits. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) The film is maintaining a steady run in the North American market as well. According to Venky Box Office, Jana Nayagan brought in 43,000 dollars (approximately 36 lakh rupees) on Monday. This takes its total regional gross to 1.35 million dollars (roughly 11.27 crore rupees). These overseas contributions are providing a helpful boost to the worldwide gross as the film moves through its first week. When we look at the historical context of Kollywood releases, Jana Nayagan currently holds the sixth position in the list of highest first six-day net collections for Tamil films, with a total of 123.15 crore. This puts it ahead of notable blockbusters like Vikram, which stood at 118.40 crore, and Bigil at 110.10 crore during the same timeframe. While it trails behind the massive opening records set by Leo and Jailer, holding the sixth spot proves that Jana Nayagan is one of the most significant performers in the industry recently. To see where the film stands against the biggest openers in Kollywood history, here are the top 5 highest first six-day collections for Tamil films: 1. Leo: 195.95 Cr 2. Jailer: 165.75 Cr 3. Jana Nayagan records over 5.8 million ticket sales across major platforms and breaks historic records

BY SACNILK

The focus for Jana Nayagan has shifted toward its massive reach on digital platforms, where it is breaking significant volume records. On BookMyShow, the film has officially crossed the 30 lakh ticket milestone, making it only the seventh Tamil film in the last three years to achieve this. This performance is being viewed as a major success, especially considering the film carries an A-rating and faced challenges from early online leaks before its release. The following seven Tamil films have crossed the 30 lakh milestone on BookMyShow over the last three years, with approximate ticket sales recorded as follows: • Jailer — 9.21 million tickets • Leo — 7.30 million tickets • Coolie — 6.09 million tickets • Amaran — 4.90 million tickets • Karuppu — 4.51+ million tickets • The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) — 4.51 million tickets • Jana Nayagan — 3.30 million tickets (Ongoing) (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) Beyond BookMyShow, the film has seen high volume through other trackers as well. According to data from District SS, an additional 2.5 million tickets have been sold, bringing the total tracked ticket count to over 5.8 million within just five days. This level of penetration across different booking platforms indicates a very high level of audience engagement that extends beyond just the major multiplex chains. Thalapathy Vijay has also reached a personal milestone with this release, securing a historical hat-trick. He is now the only Indian actor to have three consecutive films—Leo, The Greatest of All Time, and Jana Nayagan—cross the 1 million ticket mark in advance bookings alone on BookMyShow. For Jana Nayagan, the pre-sales alone accounted for 1.18 million tickets, setting a strong foundation for the opening weekend. The daily ticket sales trend on BookMyShow highlights how the film maintained its momentum. Following the massive 1.18 million pre-sales, the film sold 631.73K tickets on Thursday, 492.97K on Friday, and 487.58K on Saturday. Even as it moved toward the end of the weekend, it sold 350.6K tickets on Sunday and 155.47K on its first Monday. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}) On the Monday ticket sales chart, Jana Nayagan secured the 9th position for the highest first Monday sales for a Tamil film on the platform. With 155.47K tickets sold, it joined an elite list featuring major blockbusters. While the Monday dip was expected following a massive weekend, the cumulative total of 33,00,720 tickets on BookMyShow alone solidifies the film's position as one of the most widely watched Tamil releases of the year. Here is how the top 10 list for the highest first Monday ticket sales on BookMyShow stands: 1. Jailer — 638K 2. Leo — 470K 3. Karuppu — 300K 4. Amaran — 206K 5. Dude — 195K 6.
