SS Rajamouli's 'RRR' Hits 1 Billion Yen At The Japan Box Office

Tokyo, February 19 - SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster RRR has crossed the historic box office milestone of 1 billion Yen at the Japan box office, becoming the first-ever Indian film to achieve the feat. ## Starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, RRR has crossed the ¥‎1 billion mark on its 122nd day. The movie was released in October of last year and since then, it has continued its steady run at the box office. The movie had a big boost in collection over the last few weeks which helped it go past the box office milestone. ## Rajinikanth's Muthu is the second highest-grossing Indian film in Japan with 400 million Yen. RRR crossed Muthu's record a long time back and hasn't looked back since then. So far, the period action drama has grossed approx. 62 crores in Japan with approx. 633K admits. ## The total worldwide gross collection of RRR has now reached approx. 1170 crores. Saif Ali Khan To Play Antagonist Against Jr. NTR In NTR 30?

Hyderabad, February 16 - Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has reportedly been cast to play the lead antagonist in Jr. NTR-fronted "NTR 30". ## Directed by Koratala Siva, "NTR 30" has been planned as a big-scale Pan India movie, and the makers are locking actors across different industries to shape the movie in that way. Janhvi Kapoor has already been locked to play the female lead opposite Jr. NTR.## According to the latest reports, Koratala Siva and NTR have roped Saif Ali Khan in a negative role. The actor impressed one and all with his villainous side in Ajay Devgn-fronted "Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior". Mythri Movie Makers Hits Jackpot With Two Blockbusters

Hyderabad, January 17 - The new year of 2023 has kickstarted on a blockbuster note for the Indian film industry, led by South Indian films. Amid the uncertainty of the box office future due to heavy clashes, all four top releases - Varisu, Thunivu, Waltair Veerayya, and Veera Simha Reddy, this Pongal/Sankranthi festival have delivered big to step up the stage for upcoming films. ## Among the aforementioned films, Megastar Chiranjeevi's "Waltair Veerayya", and Nandamuri Balakrishna's "Veera Simha Reddy" have been produced by Mythri Movie Makers, one of the leading Telugu production houses. The studio was under extreme pressure before the release but after the opening weekend, it is having celebrations with the kind of response its films have got from the audiences. ## Both Mythri's films have crossed the 100 crores gross mark at the worldwide box office and are likely to achieve the break-even mark in the opening week itself. "Veera Simha Reddy" was released on January 12 while "Waltair Veerayya" hit screens a day later. While both films have performed exceptionally well it is the Chiranjeevi-starrer action drama that emerged as a bigger hit. ## Directed by Bobby, "Waltair Veerayya" has grossed approx. 121 crores worldwide in just 4 days, becoming the biggest grosser for Chiranjeevi since "Sye Ra Narshima Reddy" (2019). The break-even target for the film is around 90 crores and it will reach there in the next couple of days and turn into a profitable venture for the investors. ## "Veera Simha Reddy", on the other hand, is directed by Gopichand Melineni and has also crossed the 100 crores gross mark in 6 days worldwide and becomes only the second film for NBK to achieve the feat. It is all set to become the biggest grosser for the veteran actor, surpassing "Akhanda" which grossed around 120 crores worldwide in 2021. ## Ahead of the release, the Chiranjeevi-starrer was having low advance booking as compared to "Veera Simha Reddy" and the opening was also lower than the NBK-fronted film, however, after the opening day of each, "Waltair Veerayya" started its dominance over other films at the Telugu box office. It will be Chiranjeevi's first clean hit since "Khaidi No. 150" (2017). ## Mythri Movie Makers, meanwhile, after hitting jackpot with two blockbusters, has a blockbuster line-up ahead. The maverick filmmaker is currently directing superstar Prabhas in "Salaar" and will next team up with Jr. NTR. ## Now, according to the latest reports, the duo of Prabhas and Neel would be reuniting after "Salaar". 'RRR' Wins Two Honours At The Critics Choice Awards 2023

Los Angeles, January 16 - SS Rajamouli's mega movie RRR is continuing its awards hunt on the International stage, and ahead of the big Oscars nominations, the epic period action drama bags two more top honors. ## Starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, "RRR" has been awarded the Best Foreign Language Film at the Critics Choice Awards 2023. The movie was nominated with Golden Globe winner, "Argentina, 1985", as well as, "All Quiet on the Western Front", "Decision to Leave", "Close", and "Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths". ## "Naatu Naatu" from "RRR" has won the Best Song at the awards. Early Estimates: Waltair Veerayya Rocks Mammoth Third Day; Veera Simha Reddy Is Good On Its Fourth Day

Hyderabad, January 15 - Megastar Chiranjeevi hits jackpot on the festival of Sankranthi 2023 in the form of action drama film Waltair Veerayya. Directed by Bobby, the movie has completed its 3-day opening weekend on a blockbuster note. ## After grossing approx. 57 crores in the first two days, "Waltair Veerayya" witnesses another mammoth day at the domestic box office as it scores an estimated 22+ crores gross on its third day/first Sunday to push the total collection to around 80 crores gross. ## Also starring Ravi Teja in a pivotal role, "Waltair Veerayya" scored approx. 35 crores share collection in the Telugu states in the first two days. The share collection on Sunday is likely to be in the range of 12 crores, for around 47 crores share in the opening weekend, which is more than 50% of the total business of the film. ## "Waltair Veerayya" also has a shot at crossing 100 crores gross worldwide in the opening weekend. Including today's estimated domestic collection, the worldwide total of the film is around 93 crores. If not today, it will surely go past 100 crores by tomorrow, to become Chiranjeevi's biggest grosser since "Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy" (2019). ## Meanwhile, Nandamuri Balakrishna's Veera Simha Reddy, after rocking the biggest opening day for an Indian movie in 2023, is holding on a decent level. The Gopichand Malineni-directed action drama grossed approx. 62 crores in the first three days, and grossed an estimated 12+ crores on its first Sunday for around 74 crores domestic opening weekend. ## The share collection of "Veera Simha Reddy" is around 44 crores after an estimated 7 crores share on Sunday.
