Mumbai, March 5 - Akshay Kumar-fronted "Bachchhan Paandey" is all set to hit the big screens on 18th March. It will be the first Bollywood movie of a major male star to hit the big screens this year. ## Akshay Kumar, who is in the peak phase of his career has delivered a lot of promising movies since 2016. Just before the pandemic hit Akshay Kumar was on a streak of back-to-back hits. He delivered 4 hits in 2019, which include Kesari, Mission Mangal, Housefull 4, and Good Newwz. ## Now as the pandemic seems to be fading and the cinemas are back to 100% occupancy trade analysts, and distributors are keeping a close eye on how Bachchan Pandey will perform at the box office.## Last year Akshay Kumar starrer Bell Bottom was released on the big screens but was not able to have a successful run and was a box office debacle, major reasons being the Maharashtra lockdown and night restrictions in many places. ## But he made a solid comeback in the latter half of the year with Rohit Shetty's directorial Sooryavanshi which emerged as the only Bollywood movie to get a clean hit verdict post the pandemic.## Now again Akshay Kumar is hoping to carry the momentum forward with Bachchan Pandey hitting theatre this month. In this movie, he will be seen in the role of a gangster. It will be a matter of deep curiosity to see how this movie will perform as the monstrous Pan Indian giant RRR is going to release just 7 days after the release of Bachchan Pandey. ## Akshay Kumar's last Holi release movie Kesari was a hit back in 2019. Expectations from Bachchan Paandey are also the same.
